“Why insist on building an underground garage if your customers still have to work to the ground floor?” Estephan asked Raymond
Raymond turned his head quickly towards the left and looking at Estephan with his eye brows raised and slowly he touched his forehead briefly wondering why the question was directed at him. Well he was the one who suggested an acquisition of Great Monument bank so technically the question could only be directed at him except he wanted Estephan to ask the driver.
They had arrived at the bank and had parked at a spot which had a tag “reserved” written on the wall in red prints. They didn’t think twice before parking at the reserved spot, they were about to buy the place, who could be more deserving of the spot.
“There is no connection to the front door except you go around the garage” Estephan said as he stepped out of the car while looking around the garage.
“Well that’s why they have you now” said Raymond in response with a slight giggle trying so hard to hide the fact that his friend’s constant questioning was getting on his nerves.
“Not so fast big guy, I don’t know if this place is worth my money yet” Estephan said while buttoning up his suit and settling into his regular walking pace.
Estephan was always on suits regardless of the occasion, he believed you are not dressed for business if you are not on a suit. This began to spread to other aspects of his life and damn!!! he could wear the hell out of a suit. This could be a two piece, three piece or a turtle neck inside a two piece.
Raymond on the other hand tried to live up to his friend’s dressing style but fails occasionally when he turns up for company barbecues and casual outing in regular clothes.
Two company guards along with Mr Thomson walked up to welcome their guests Estephan and Raymond.
Mr Thomson is the managing director of Great monument bank, he was well into his 60’s but still had the energy and strive of a 40 year old as you will notice with is posture and gait.
He was about 5’ in height and his hair was black with little grey strands and his hair was laid at both sides of his ears . You couldn’t tell his racial inclination as he had a mixture of American and Indian appearance which made his facial feature stand out and made him appear younger. While he walked he had a bit of curvature which appeared as a slight hunchback. The two guards walked on both sides dressed with the regular cliché suits and wired headsets which you could notice behind their ears. They hastened their steps and while they approached them they stopped a feet to where Estephan and Raymond were standing while Mr Thomson moved closer approaching them .
“Welcome to great monument bank Mr Estephan, I am Mr Thomson the managing director of the bank. It is great to finally meet you in person after speaking over the phone for so long ” said Mr Thomson with an outstretched hand to engage Mr Estephan in a handshake.
“ That would be me Mr Thomson” Raymond replied accepting the handshake”
“I am the finance manager at Dune’s global who you have been speaking with, I am handling this acquisition on behalf of Mr Estephan, he is just here to see the building and the operations for himself first hand before approving any further moves. It is a pleasure to meet you in person finally” Raymond added.
“You are most welcome” Mr Thomson said with a smile on his face, you could tell the truthfulness of the smile with the way it brightened up his eyes.
“Right this way” Mr Thomson said leading the way to the main office building from the underground garage.
The great monument bank was located at number 14 cornelian street New York City. It is sited between a coffee house and a newspaper printing press. The coffee house is called Steve’s coffee house as it was passed on for several generations. The newspaper printing press is called The Mantel and the building is quite old and it is believed to have existed in the 1900’s. The Great Monument Bank is a six story building. Just inside the revolving front door is a reception area on an elevated surface. The reception area has a large platform which two desktops are kept and behind it two chairs. The reception area is always manned by two representatives at all times. The reception is a place to deliver packages, mails and for directions. By the right hand side of the reception area is a lobby where people could wait or have private discussions. The lobby has 2 sets of a three person long couch and two single chairs. Towards the left of this reception is the general elevator which all the staff take to get to their various offices. Behind the lobby and by the stairs is the private elevator which is used by the management team and high profile clients and investors
They where high profile clients and investors as well so it was certain they would go on the private elevator to the 4th floor.
As they approached the elevator one of the guard pressed the button at the right hand side and the elevator opened up. As they walked in, Estephan’s focus was drifted to his reflection that was projected by the reflective surface that the elevator was bounded by.
Estephan has always being self absorbed. He kept looking at his face and the perfection that people where grateful to behold at will everyday while he had to use a mirror to look at. There is a thing line between self love and self absorption and Estephan was way beyond the line that he couldn’t see it anymore.
The signature peep sound was played and the doors of the elevator opened up into the 4th floor and they all stepped outside the elevator, but as he stepped out he found something more intriguing to look at beyond his reflection.
Diane walked out of her office towards Tracy’s desk that was located at the open space but closer to the entrance of her office. The 4th floor was the section of the bank for the investment team. This team involves the investment bankers, stock brokers, lawyers and procurement officers. The elevator opens into the central area where there a few working desk for various personal assistance to officials on that floor. The right hand side from the elevator is the executive meeting hall and the rest of the team share the left side of the floor.
“Do you have the report of the terms for acquisition by Dunes global?” Diane asked as she bent a little towards Tracy’s desk exposing a little cleavage. She wore a tight fitting shirt which was buttoned up except for the first 2 buttons of the shirt. She was proud of her body and especially her breast, she didn’t mind dressing a little flattering now and then and the attention was exciting even if she lacked interest in pursuing anything substantial but the trill of the chase and being wanted still gave her a certain high. Her figure was irresistible with nicely shaped breast, a slender waist and perfectly rounded hips who could look at her and get themselves to look away immediately? Absolutely nobody could. She had been wearing an engagement ring the past year which made men stay away from her but now not anymore. As she gained the attention that was stripped away by the ring it still felt infuriating as she was not interested in mindless flirting and empty words on the lips of men.
“I had given those to you a week ago” Tracy said
“Haven’t you gone through them?” she asked
“Yes I have but I need to sort some things before the meeting tomorrow” Diane said
“What do you mean tomorrow?”
“I heard Dunes Global representatives have already pulled up, they are headed up stairs this very moment” she said in a rather agitated tune.
“That’s fine I will just look through it quickly I might get to sit out of this meeting” Diane said looking through the file as placed on the table with her shoulders slightly bent and her cleavage on display to everyone who had cared enough to look.
“I think you are out of luck” Tracy said using her neck to nodd in the direction of the elevator as it opened and Mr Thomson walked right out along with Estephan and Raymond and into the meeting hall.
Her eyes only caught Estephan, why wouldn’t it? He was the spitting image of perfection. The fact that she had that thought about a man made her uneasy. What is it about this man that could get her walked up in just two seconds? His mere aura commanded respect, his posture and gait was alluring, she saw herself staring without control and suddenly their eyes met.
