STORMS COMING
As the atmosphere changed and the wind picked up fast, it was evident that a storm was coming. Bright blue skies were quick to change to a nightmarish black colour as rain began to pelt from the sky. For an amateur on the ocean, this might be a worry, but for the crew on the Ruby Rose, this was just another Tuesday.  They had travelled the seven seas in search of treasure, lost folk and ancient beasts that slept far down below but one of the guarantees from the weather, was that is was completely unpredictable. Crew members were quick to work, tying down the different sails to masts and ensuring their main form of movement would not be damaged.  With each passing moment, the waves which originally licked the edge of the boat like a puppy wanting to play grew in size and motions as they began to sway the boat like a parent might a cradle for their infant to sleep. Those up in the mast a rigging held on tight while those below tied down anything that was left on deck.  With all tied down, the crew were quick to man to stations and ensure the boat, which had weathered many storm and battled would stay a float. Captains calls could be heard at the wheel and like a well oiled machine, crew members were quick to answer or follow instructions.  As the darkness of the cloud cover surrounded them, they were slightly appreciative of the cracks of lightning that came here and there to light up the ship. The darkness and rain had taken most of their sense of sight so they were grateful to get a glimpse when they had to move quick. Most crew were muscled men between 6ft-6ft'4 but in between them, stood a young woman in her mid twenties. She was 5ft '8 with a slimmer hour glass frame. Her hair and skin were as pale as snow with her eyes gleaming like dark rubies. She was dressed in mens clothing, tailored to her shape to move quicker and barked orders to some of the strongest men.  With a light wave hitting the edge of the boat, men were told to duck low and grab what they could to stay on board. The boats motions were quick to swing in each direction and with a mighty gale of wind, the main mast came undone. Seeing this, the woman was quick to move up the rigging, faster than any of the men due to her smaller figure and reach the helm where the sail swung.  She was quick to move low and tie each of the strings were possible to retie the sail into place. Her heart in her mouth she was felt the wind pick up more. If she didn't hurry up, they would have no sail left. As she reached the last tie, she felt more confident in actions making it easier to tie off the sail and move down  the rigging. The wind moved her back and forth and with each step she took, the rain would make the rope slippy. Her eyes gleamed as she carefully continued down the rig. With the half way mark met, a sudden snapping noise was heard from above, the rigging went loose and within a few seconds a large splash was heard below and a crew member screamed, "WILLOWS GONE OVERBOARD!"
