It was Saturday morning. Delilah's father, Pastor Jones had just finished preaching a wonderful sermon and it was time for everyone to go.
As her, her mom, 2 brothers and father was getting ready to head home, Pastor Jones got stopped by one of the church members to let him know how wonderful his sermon was.
Out the corner out her eye, Delilah spotted a boy with an annoyed look on his face as a woman who looked like his grandmother stood by him, talking to one of the churchgoers. The boy looked over and noticed Delilah staring and she shyly turned away.
She looked up again to see the boy still staring at her. She blushed and turned to her family who was heading towards their car.
"I saw that." Delilah's mom said, lighting elbowing her.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She was in denial but it was obvious that Delilah had a little crush.
"His name is Christopher. That's Sister Evelyn's grandson. Really smart kids, got scholarships for basketball and accepted into Yale. Studying to become a lawyer." Delilah wasn't impressed but what her mother had to say.
'He's one of those type of boys. Lives up to someone else's expectations.' Delilah thought to herself.
She on the other hand, was a straight A-student. Never got into a fight, never smoked, never drinked. Hell, she's never been to a party. She stays home with her head in her books, hoping to become a veterinarian one day.
"Oh, how nice." She faked smiled and got into the car. As they began to pull, she saw Christopher wave. She shyly waved back and looked down at her fingers, fidgeting with them.
If she wasn't impressed by who he was, how come she becomes so nervous around him?
Maybe this a crush she is denying.
