ONE NIGHT. NO ATTACHMENTS. JUST LUST.

Event planner, Emily Carter never planned to fall for a man like Alexander Blackwood-billionaire, a control freak and devastatingly irresistible. Still, one night of scorching passion turns her carefully ordered world upside down.

Cold, calculating, and powerful beyond measure, Alexander rules his empire with precision and never lets anyone get close until he met her.

Emily Carter, ambitious and fiercely independent, has always lived by her own rules. Her life, a carefully drawn blueprint, leaves little room for the unexpected when one night of dancing at the rooftop of a 6 story building with her friend Ama Reginals draws her into the seductive, luxurious, and dominant world of Mr. Billionaire. She finds herself questioning everything: her rules, her control, her heart.

As desire ignites and secrets unfold, the only question is: can one night lead to forever?

The Manhattan skyline shimmered like glass, the lights from the skyscrapers dancing in the night air. On the rooftop of The Bellamy, a sleek six-story venue nestled in the heart of the city, Emily Carter stood with her clipboard, quietly watching the magic unfold. She stood at the corner of the rooftop, scanning the crowd through the rim of her glass of sparkling wine. She wasn't here to party. She was the mastermind behind it all. Soft jazz played under the hum of conversation, fairy lights hung overhead like a constellation, and elegant floral arrangements brought color to every corner. Guests in designer dresses and sharp suits floated between cocktail tables, sipping champagne and laughing like they had no cares in the world. Emily's earpiece buzzed. "Station Three is low on champagne." She glanced toward the bar, already in motion. "Send some bottles there now and tell them to keep the bottles chilled." This wasn't her first time organizing a rooftop event, but it was the most high-profile one she'd planned. Her name Carter Events was printed in tiny gold letters on the bottom corner of the invitation, and tonight, that meant everything. She took a deep breath, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Everything was under control. So why couldn't she stop checking things? "You know," came a familiar voice, "normal people sit back relax after pulling off such a masterpiece." Emily turned and saw her best friend, Hailey Scones, approaching with a glass of cocktail and a raised brow. "That's because normal people don't have reputations to protect," Emily replied, crossing her arms. "Em, look around," Hailey gestured to the scene with her glass. "This place looks like it came off a Pinterest board. You could stop for five minutes and let yourself feel the success." Emily smiled, a little sheepishly. "I'm wired to panic. You know that." Hailey looped an arm through hers and gave her a little push. "Just five minutes. Come on, mingle with your guests a little. No clipboard. No checklists. Just…be." Emily was about to protest, but then it happened. A sudden change in the atmosphere. She turned her head slightly and there he was. Standing at the far end of the venue, casually leaning against the glass railing, gaze fixed on her was a man who didn't just attend parties he owned the idea of presence. Tall. Impeccably dressed. Broad-shouldered with a jawline as sharp as a razor and composed, like he'd been born with power in his bloodstream. And he was looking straight at her. Not in passing. Not vaguely. Not at other guests but directly at her. "Who…who is that?" Emily asked, barely moving her lips. Hailey followed her gaze, then muttered under her breath, "Oh God." "What?" "That's Alexander Blackwood." Emily's eyebrows lifted. "The Alexander Blackwood?, as in the man who owns half of the city of New York?" Hailey nodded, suddenly serious. "CEO of Blackwood Enterprises. Multi-billionaire. Ruthless, private, cold as ice.He doesn't do events like this. He definitely doesn't stare at event planners." And yet, here he was. Watching her like she was the only person in the room. Emily forced herself to break eye contact. "He probably thinks I'm staff. Or confused me for someone else." "Emily," Hailey said, almost gently, "that man doesn't confuse anyone for anything. And he never shows up without a reason." Emily straightened her blazer, trying to focus. "I have to check on the lights." "You're about to fall into the den of a lion." "I plan parties, Hails. Not romance novels." Hailey opened her mouth to argue but paused. "Okay. Just…be careful. That man plays chess while everyone else is still learning checkers." Emily nodded, forcing a smile. "I'll survive a glance from a billionaire." But as she moved through the crowd, adjusting a candle here, straightening a tablecloth there, she could still feel it that gaze, sharp and unrelenting. And then, she turned to the side to talk to one of the serves and he was standing right in front of her. "Miss Carter." His voice was deep, smooth, and direct. No wasted words. "Yes?" "I'm told you planned this event." "I did," she said, proud of the calm in her tone. "Is everything all right?" He tilted his head slightly. "It's elegant. Well-executed." "Thank you. I try to anticipate needs before they arise." "Trying is for people who hope to succeed. You've already succeeded." There was a pause between them, electric and strange. She looked up, meeting his cool gray eyes. He didn't blink. He didn't smile. But somehow, he felt…intense. "If you'll excuse me," she said quickly, her heart racing in her chest. "I need to check on the dessert course." "Of course," he said. But he didn't move. As she was about to walk away, he stretched out an arm stopping her in her heels and said "I have a proposition for you" She took a step back and lifted an eyebrow indicating that she was listening. His eyes wandered around her body before finally stopping at her eyes, then he said "ONE NIGHT. NO ATTACHMENTS.NO FEELINGS" A look of shock grazed her face, she stood there staring before finally saying "Excuse me please" and walked away. Something had shifted tonight. And Emily Carter, for all her planning, had no idea what was coming next.
