I saw Gwen as soon we walked into the main event space. I hadn't thought she would have the gall to come to this event, let alone approach me. She knew I would be here, I had RSVP'd for the both of us when we were here last year after all. I can feel Melissa stiffen next to me as Gwen approaches, and then, as she kisses me on the cheek. Before I can say anything more than her name though Melissa reaches across me with an outstretched hand.
"Hi, I'm Melissa," she introduces herself to Gwen.
"Charmed, I'm sure," Gwen sneers at her and I'm done with this conversation. It's already lasted entirely too long in my opinion.
"Come on baby," I say wrapping my arm around Melissa's waist, "let's go find our seat. Gwen, have a lovely evening," I tell her before walking in the oppo
