I wasn't looking forward to this conversation but I think I owed it to Melissa after she trusted me with her past. Not a single person besides myself knew the whole story. My parents knew Mike was an addict and was killed in a mugging gone wrong. Shannon knew more than they did, but I never told her how he was able to get her away from that f.ucking rat. Pat knew a lot as well since he was with me the night we caught Gerry but even he didn't know what started Mike's addiction. Everyone connected to Mike knew pieces about his life, there were things I would never share with them because I didn't want to break their hearts further.
