It was hours before Kaeva heard the cabin’s front door open and close. He was up in the loft in the twilight, staring at his chimes and thinking of how Eddie just hadn’t been able to believe they were decorative and not functional. That Kaeva just liked them. The bemused look on Eddie’s face had been…Well.. He sighed. Kaeva hadn’t been able to decide if Eddie returning to the City and leaving would make him feel better or worse than Eddie coming back to him. The second Kaeva heard the front door catch, though, a wave of relief washed over him. So that answered the current great debate, but Kaeva was less than thrilled about it. He’d like not to give a s**t about the kid. He really, really would. He’d like to blame the endless dreams he had, even when he dozed, of Eddie in bed next to him
