Nothing I had ever experienced could prepare me for that phone call; it felt like someone had ripped my heart out of my chest when the voice on the phone told me that my wife was fighting for her life. I fell to the floor, my world came crashing down around me and all I could think about was my beautiful wife fighting in a hospital. I can’t remember how I got to the hospital; all I can remember was running down a hallway that felt like it would go on forever until I finally got to my wife’s room. I opened the door to see that the room was empty, my heart was racing I screamed her name; a nurse walked over to me and offered her help. When I told her I was looking for my wife she rushed me to the room they were in while operating on her, I saw her on the table and she wasn’t moving, my heart sank to see her hooked up to all these machines with so many doctors around her.
My colors slowly faded as I watched the doctors, my knees buckled and I fell to the floor when I saw them step away from her, my wife my best friend my whole world was now gone. How was I going to live without her, she was my everything, my life was literally dull without her.
