**A Tangled Web of Emotions** "Mom, we are okay. What about you?" Aderyn asked, her voice filled with concern. "I'm good, dear," Yvaine replied, but her voice lacked conviction. "Mom, you're lying to us," Deryn said, her eyes narrowing. "Does it have anything to do with what was troubling you the other day?" "Mom, didn't you promise to tell us everything that is disturbing you?" Daryl asked, returning after putting on a sweater, a worried frown etched on his face. "My darlings, I'm not trying to hide anything from you," Yvaine replied, her voice wavering slightly, betraying her true feelings. "Then what is it, Mom?" Daryl insisted, his eyes pleading. She took a sip of her champagne, stalling for time, her mind racing for an answer. "Mom, you're only like this when something concerns us," Darren said softly, his voice filled with empathy. She avoided their gazes, staring down at her glass, the bubbles in her champagne mirroring her inner turmoil. "Mom, did you find someone you love?" Aderyn asked, her tone gentle but probing, sensing something deeper. Yvaine's body trembled slightly, a small movement that didn't escape her children's notice. They all knew at that moment. "Mom, we know you love us more than you love yourself," Deryn said, her voice tender yet firm. "But for once, can you choose your own happiness?" Aderyn added, their eyes pleading with her, hoping she would finally put herself first. "We know you're going to say that we are your happiness, and that has never been a lie. But we want you to find someone for yourself," Darren said earnestly, his eyes filled with sincerity. "Mom, if you want to see us happy, don't close your heart," Daryl said, his voice breaking slightly, his vulnerability clear. She looked at them, her heart aching. "Do you want a dad?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, the question hanging in the air. They kept quiet, the silence stretching on, filled with unspoken emotions and longing. "I have to get some rest," Yvaine said finally, standing up. "Love you all." She then placed the phone on the nightstand, the weight of the conversation heavy on her shoulders. "Gemini, play music." "Playing music," the device responded, the soothing melody filling the room. Closing her eyes, she let the music wash over her, finding a semblance of peace in its calming notes. Sleep soon claimed her, offering a temporary escape from her worries. A New Day, New Challenges** In the morning, Yvaine woke up to the sun shining brightly through the curtains, a new day promising fresh possibilities. She went to the bathroom, took a long shower, and felt refreshed. After a pleasant shower, she wore rad jeans, a white top, and sneakers, then ordered breakfast from room service. It didn't take long for her breakfast to arrive, a tray filled with a variety of fresh fruits. After breakfast, she decided to take a stroll. She was going to stay in City Z for a week and wanted to explore. She went to the mall to look at things. "Welcome, miss. How can I be of service?" a saleswoman greeted her as she entered. "You can go back. I just want to look at things," Yvaine replied politely, her tone even. The saleswoman's attitude changed instantly. "If you're not going to buy, what are you doing here? People like you bring bad luck," she sneered, her words dripping with disdain. Yvaine looked at her calmly, deciding to ignore the rude comment. She tried to pass and go look at the clothes. "Where do you think you're going?" the saleswoman blocked her path. "This is a high-class mall. I wonder why lowlifes like you come here when you can't even afford anything." Just as Yvaine was about to retort, she felt a presence behind her. "What are you standing here for? Leave or I'll call security," the saleswoman threatened, her voice harsh. "Who do you want to throw out?" a deep voice interrupted, its authority clear. The saleswoman turned and looked at Liam, captivated by his commanding presence. Yvaine decided to leave, but Liam caught her hand, his grip gentle yet firm. "If you don't want to leave, then I will." "Can we talk?" he asked, his eyes sincere and searching. "Let go of my hand," she said firmly, her gaze steady. Liam released her hand. "We'll talk when you do what I told you. Until then, assume you don't know me," Yvaine said, her voice unwavering as she walked away. Liam watched her until she was out of sight. He then turned to Reuben, who had just arrived. "Get her fired," he instructed coldly. Liam left after giving his instructions, determination in his strides, his thoughts consumed by Yvaine.
