Chapter 2
The dinner was held at Grandma Marie’s since she had a bigger home than Henry and since Joey and Janet didn’t have time to clean house and entertain with the brand-new baby. That meant the gathering included Henry’s siblings and Marie’s children, and was not little by anyone’s definition.
The downside to such a large gathering was not being able to escape, ever, because there was always someone in the next corner, the next room, the next space ready to talk to her. The upside was that they entertained themselves, talking to each other as much as they did to her. And they keep Dad busy, Terri thought.
