Ring ring my alarm for school was going off and I groaned as opened my eyes and reached for my phone. I stopped my annoying alarm and stretched out my body. “Maria Ann, time to wake up!” My dad Yelled and I heard his loud footsteps outside my room door. I groaned again as my dad walked into my room. “I’m up!” I Yelled and put my face in my pillow. “Hurry, this is your last day of werewolf academy and I want to make sure you're not late.” My dad said and he pops his head out my door to look at me. “I know dad,” I Said muffed in the pillow. My dad closed my room door as I can hear him walk down the stairs. I sighed and got up from my bed. I tied up my hair in a bun and it took a while since I have long hair. I got off my bed and started to wash up and get ready for school. I have been attending werewolf academy for the last 13 years since I started to learn how to write. The academy has three buildings for age groups like normal schools. In the academy, we learn basic things and about werewolves. We have a choice to learn to defend ourselves. Most of the time boys do this while girls just learning. We are known to have a Mate and taken by the alpha when we turn 18. I turned 18 a week ago and I know my time is soon. Same for my dad since I am an only child. “Hurry!” My dad Yelled and I groaned as I walked out of my room in my school uniform. I had my bag with one of the straps in my shoulder as I closed my room door. I jogged down the stairs and I saw my dad with a piece of toast on his hand. “Let go,” I Said and grabbed my toast from my dad’s hand. He sighed in frustration and I put the toast in my mouth as I put my shoes on. “I hope you enjoy your last day. Just know your mate will find you randomly.” My dad Said and he opens the front door for me. I sighed and followed my dad. I ate my toast quick as I was going to be late. “What if I get chosen? What will happen?” I Asked out of curiosity. My dad looked at me as we made it to his car. He unlocked his car and opens the passenger door for me. “Well, you have to love out the house. I don't know how your mother will feel about that since she doesn’t want you to leave. She can’t accept you being 18 already.” My dad Said and I entered in. He closed the door for me and I just put on my seatbelt. “I’m sure she just doesn't want me to be abused by my mate. Mom was taken by your family when you saw her right? You told me she didn't speak to you for a week before she accepts you.” I said as my dad entered the driver side. “Don't remind me, sweetie, I wanted a second child but she didn’t want too. I understand she wanted one so our lives are easier.” my dad said and he started his car while he put his seatbelt on. I put my bag on my lap and fixed my uniform jacket. I grabbed my phone and saw my mom texted me. My dad started to drive. Mom: “come home right away okay?” I rolled my eyes and just didn't reply. My moms at the capital of the city and she work as a social worker. She works all day and my dad also works as a social worker but he works from home. “Your mother? She wants you to go home after school right?” my dad questioned and I just nodded as my dad turned. The school isn't far from my house. It just a 10-minute drive. “Can you lie for me once? I want to hang out with my friends at the ice cream shop near the school. That not far so can I?” I begged and put the ‘please’ hands. My dad groaned and he made it to the main street where my school should be in sighed soon. “Okay, just for ice cream and nothing else.” my dad said and I just put a smile on my face as my dad did the same, “your mother is going to have a stern talk with me when she founds out I lied to her.” my dad said annoyed. I always go home after school every day except the weekend where I actually hang out with my friends but I have a curfew. “You're going to fine, dad,” I said and I saw my school in sight. My dad turned to the campus area. He drove to the high school section which was pretty close. I looked at my phone to see I had was 5 minutes early than usual. I removed my seatbelt and my dad stopped in front of the school. “Have a good last day sweetheart.” my dad patted my shoulders as I got out the car. I closed the passenger door and waved to my dad as I fixed my bag on both my shoulders. He drove off and I walked to the doors where I saw the security guard guarding the door just in case werewolves try to ambush the school for mates. He noticed me and he let me through as he saw me wearing my uniform. I walked in and I walked to my first class right away. All students cleaned out our lockers the day before and today was a chill day. I made it to my first class as it was close. I open the door to see mostly everyone in and talking among each other. I closed the door as my friends noticed me. “Hey may.” April greeted me as I made it to my seat next to her and my other friend Helen who sits behind me. “Hey may.” Helen greeted mad I put my bag on my lap as I sat down in my seat. “Our final day is here, did you find your mate yet?” Helen asked and looking at me. I rolled my eyes. “Of course not! If I did find him I would know.” the teacher told us we know we found our mate if I feel such connection and plus apparently the alpha can speak to you and you can speak to him by thinking in his head. Not only that we feel attached to each other but the eyes. “So no talking in the head or attachment feeling?” April questioned looking at me. I nodded. “Did you find yours?” I asked looking at April and Helen. Helen leans back on her chair and nodded. I was surprised. “He’s two years older than me. He not bad to know but his very possessive of me,” Helen said and she looked out the window. I and April looked out the window to see a man standing out the school gate. “A guard for protection huh? I like that but don't like that.” April said looking back at Helen. I just chuckled as I look at the clock on the wall near the classroom door. The teacher sure is late. “No s**t but as long as he keeps his distance then I cool with him around,” Helen said and look back at me. I sighed as my teacher walked in stressed. “Good morning everyone, sorry I’m late. Traffic was the worst today,” she said and closed the classroom door. “It fine teach, let just get the last day over with.” said one of the boys and we all laughed. “Alright, alright. Okay, so today we're just going to be resting since I have nothing planned. That means you can have your phone but if one os to loud I’m talking that benefit away.” m teacher said and we all yelled out. “Yes miss!” the teacher nodded and she went to unlock her computer. She went grab a DVD from her bag and I saw it was a werewolf-related movie. How ironic are you miss? I pulled out my phone and saw my mom texted me again, Mom: “I’ll call your father to be sure you made it home. Make sure you go home.” I rolled my eyes and ignored the text. I locked my phone and looked at the movie my teacher brought started to play, it’s not that I hate my mom but I don't want her to control my life. She’s already protective as it is and I don't want to see her when I get taken by my alpha. Most likely she’ll try to convince for my alpha not to take me but that not going to happen. I wonder when I’m going to meet my mate. “You're going home after school?” April question in a low voice sad but I just shook my head. “Nah, I told my dad to cover me as we go to ice cream and maybe walk at the park nearby chatting,” I said as April and Helen put smiles in there faces. “I love your dad for a reason. I don’t know why your mom is your dads mate in the beginning,” Helen questioned and I just sighed. “Tell me about it.” I looked forward as some of the popular boys were looking my way. One of the popular boys is also trying to find his mate. He thinks he can just find his by choosing but that not the case. He wants me to be his mate when I feel nothing with him. He got up and walked up to me as he had a smirk on my face, I groaned in a low voice. April and Helen looked up and looked away to there phone as they don’t notice him. He was now in front of me, “Hey, girl, want to sit with me?” ken asked and I rolled my eyes. Of course, he wants me to sit with him. I not sitting with a man that not my mate, “You're not my mate ken. Leave me alone.” I cross my legs with my bag on my lap still. You can see my legs still but not really. Ken looked down at my lap and he licked his lips. “Come on girl, I know you want me.” ken looked at my chest and I just sighed in annoyance. “Leave me alone ken, it’s not happening whether you like it or not,” I said and ken looked frustrated. I was always the stubborn type so I understand why Ken was getting frustrated. “Okay fine but I’ll get you one day,” Ken growled and walked back to his friends. “He’ll never give up, you need to find your mate soon.” April joked and I just rolled my eyes. This is going to be a long day. ***** “I hate mint. Why do you like mint?” Helen asked as we walked out the ice cream shop near my school. Helen got normal vanilla and April got strawberry. I got mint as it was one of my favorite flavors. I like cookies and cream too but I was feeling mint this time around. I got a cup while Helen and April got cones. Helen got her guard to leave her alone as long as she comes home within two hours. “It a good refresher I guess,” I said and they both nodded. “Like toothpaste?” April jokingly said and Helen started to laugh as she took a bite of her ice cream. “f**k off,” I said and took a bite if my ice cream. April took a bite of her ice cream and we made it to the park. We all stopped walking and saw it was really crowded especially from the field. “What going on?” April asked and I was already pulling out my phone from my skirt pocket and search up what the new tread on the news. Once it loaded I was shocked. “Prince of what s visiting?” I questioned. I pressed on the link and read on the more details. April and Helen looked at my phone. “No way Prince Nathaniel is visiting. He the price of the north and he visit come visit the middle class which is us.” April said shocked and took another bite of her ice cream. “So a prince is here celebrating something?” I questioned and locked my phone. “Is that why teachers are late today?” I questioned again and Helen and April looked at each other as we continued to walk. I took a bite of my ice cream. We walked a trail away from the crowd in the field. “Did you hear that Prince Nathaniel is 21 and haven’t found his mate yet?” Helen said looking at the crowd on the field. I and April looked at her shocked. “So he has been single his whole life? Do you think he just messes around looking for her?” April asked and took a bite of her cone. She ate most of her ice cream on top. “No id just his mate wasn't at the age yet. Some alpha’s mates start early than them. It rare for a wolf to find their mates if there tree to four years younger.” I nodded as I was half of my ice cream. We stopped again and we got a better view of what was going on. We saw a lot of people in a fancy looking clothes and tux. They were having a greeting party at the park. There were good looking dessert and food down there. “Let sit here and watch. I’m interested in what going on.” Helen said and walked to the stairs near us. There were guards near the premise of the field but they were pretty far so they shouldn’t mind us. I sighed and I followed behind April as we all sat down. I took a melty bit. I look down at the party and there I saw a young man and an older man walked out of the party. They didn’t go far as they talked. “That prince Nate for short. Isn't he hot?” Helen questioned and I looked to see a brown color man that wasn’t very muscular but he was fit. He did look hot as his hair was in point. The older man walked away from prince Nathaniel. He looked around and then he spotted us. He looked at Helen beside me and then April. He frowned and then looked at me, he stopped and looked at me for a second as I look back at him and there I felt the spark. I felt the connection right away and the prince pit a smirk on his face. I can see myself stiffen as I can feel the attraction. He walked away looking at me and looking away as he joined the party. I froze and then a hand waved in my face. “Hello? Earth to may!” I snapped and I looked around panicking. “Sorry, he is really hot,” I say trying to cover up what happened. “Are you okay? Wait don't tell me the prince is..” April said and covered her mouth. “Your eyes did change as you stared at him. I guess they were right about the prince’s mate not at age and now you're at age. He found you may.” Helen said and I just cleared my throat. “Great, how will my parents react to his.” I got up from the stairs as April and Helen followed me. I threw away my melted my cup of ice cream. Helen and April were still eating their cones. I’m glad I got a cup. Just as we started to walk away and I was going to say something. I felt a presence behind me. I felt shivers on my spine and I turned around as April and Helen looked shocked. I saw the prince now in front of me and he had a smirk on his face. “Hi princess, it finally nice to meet you.” the prince looked at my friends and they just walked away not looking back. Great, there goes my ride home. “Hi Prince Nathaniel,” I said and he looked surprised. He shouldn’t be since he is a prince. “Okay, princess looks like you know me well.” I felt arms around my wasit and I was pulled to his tough chest. “What your name princess.” he moved one of his hands from my wasit and to my cheek which I felt sparks again as he looked in my eyes, I look back in his eyes. “Maria ann but may is my nickname,” I said and the prince sighed and he leaned in as I can feel his minty hot breath in my cheeks, “I’ll see you soon okay princess maria ann. Just make sure your parents know what going on.” he leaned in my neck and I just froze as he grabbed my neck and he sniffed me. He was talking in my scent, “You smell so sweet. I can wait till your in my hands. Just be ready princess maria ann. “ he kissed my neck before he pulled away. He let go of me slowly and he walked back down the stairs to the party. I just sighed and stood there catching my breath. Just then my phone started to vibrate. I looked to see April calling me. I cleared my throat and answered it as I walked to the Aprils car in the parking lot and I can see them waiting for me, “Hey, I’ll be right there,” I said and hung up. I was still shaken up by what happened but I can't believe my mate is the prince? I made to the car in one peace and I sat at the back seat. “Hey may, how did it go?” April asked and she started to back up from the parking lot. “Just sniffed me and kissed my neck. I guess now he knows how to find me,” I said and Helen chuckled. She has been through this. She knows what's up. “He can also talk to you by your thoughts. Be careful of what you think of from now on,” Helen said looking back at me. I sighed and looked out the window. How will my dad react to this, I get home within 5 minutes and I got out of the car. I waved to my friends and April drove away, I walked to the front door and just then I heard the prince’s voice in my head. “Make sure your parents understand the situation. I don't want a problem with them.” I just froze and talked to him back in my mind. “Okay prince Nathaniel.” I can feel he had a smirk on the other side in my thoughts. I sighed and just grabbed my keys from my bag, I unlocked my door trying not to disturb my dad in his study. I walked into my house and removed my shoes. It was close to 5 pm already and I got out of school at 3;40 pm. “Hey sweetie, how was hanging out after school?” my dad walked out his study in the hallway and I just sighed. “You know how you warned me about my mate. I found my mate,” I said and my dad stopped what he was doing, he was getting a water bottle from the fridge. “How? Wait let me smell you.” my dad close the fridge and he put the water bottle on the kitchen counter, he walked up to me and cupped my chin forcing it to the side and he leans to my neck to smell me. He back up looking scared. My dad let go of my chin and he sighed in frustration. “Do you know who he is?” my dad asked and I nodded. “Prince Nathaniel from the north,” I said and my dad froze again, he combed his hair back and sighed again. My dad looks frustration but I’m sure he understands. I don't know about my mom. “I don’t how your mother will react. Let me talk to your mother okay? I got this. I understand that your mate was unexpected but it happens to your mother with me too.” my dad said and hugged me tightly by my shoulders. “I think you should pack up and go to your aunties. Just pack up what you need. I don't think you around with your mother here is not a good idea.” my dad looks back at me with his hands still on my shoulders, I nodded. My dad has a good point there. “Okay, I trust you, dad,” I said and hugged my dad back. What a day I had so far. I just my mom understands. (Nathaniel’s perspective) I finally found her. The moment are eye met I knew I found her. Her scent was like heaven and I knew I had to put my secnt to her so I kissed her neck. She had a uniform so that means she was at age but since I was in the north I couldn't sense her nor look at her until today. I knew she was around until I felt her presence enter my radar. I told my father I can feel her and he took me out of the party to look for her and I did. I felt the connection and I could stop looking at her, I just walk in the party excusing myself and I want to know my mate. I saw her walking away as I walk out again and I used my fast running t catch up with her within a second. I knew she felt the connection as I look in her eyes. I just got back from the party at my hotel and I can feel her. She not far but she still far. When I go back to the north I cant sense her anymore. I have to bring her home tomorrow so she can keep her close to me. I laid on my bed and closed my eyes, I talked to my mate since she was sort of close. “Princess?” I waited for a while and she replied. “Yes, prince Nathaniel?” oh I love when she called me by my name and prince too. “How did it go with your parents?” I waited for a while and she talked back. “My dad understood but my mother still don't know. She works till midnight and my father will talk to her. She really overprotective of me and she can't take surprises.” I was surprised. I expect the dad the understanding one but it’s the mom this time around. “I see, where are you now? Home?” I’m glad that the talk is going good so far. “At my aunties. Like I said my mom can't take surprises. I don't know how she’ll react when she finds out my mate is a prince.” I was surprised once again but I understand why she not home. Her father must have told her to go to her auntie house just in case. “Are you surprised that you're my mate princess?” I asked scared. I sure she didn't expect any of this. So did I, I didn't think I meet my mate today. “Yeah but you're my mate. It was bound for us to meet.” I put a smile on my face. “Do you know that you have to move to the north with me?” she didn't reply for a minute. “I know, my father warned me about that as I am ready to leave. I’m just waiting for my father for the update for my mother. “I sighed and there it hit me, “Want to stay with me? It’s more convenient since your going to move in with me soon.” she didn't reply for another good minute and she spook again. “I have to talk to my father.” I sighed. “Take your time.” I open my eyes and got up from my bed. Just then she responded. My father said it fine. My mother was very upset but she understood.” I put a smile on my face. “Tell me your address and I’ll ask my driver to pick you up.” I have her in my hands. Now I have the mate by my side. 30 minutes passed and there was a knock on my hotel room door. “Open!” I yelled dress in my pj’s as the door opened. “It’s your mate prince.”said my partner and I saw my mate walk in my room. She was in PJ shorts and a tank top. She had her luggage and carry one with her, She must have been ready to sleep as well. I have to admit she had one hell of a body. “Thank you nick,” I said and he nodded as he closed the door. Princess put her luggage and carry on against the wall and she turned around with her phone in her hand. She walked up to me and I just put a smile on my face and hugged her by her small wasit. She froze in my touch as I sniffed her again on her head. f**k she smelled so sweet. I’m glad she was here in my arms. “Princess, are you sleepy?” I asked as it was 11 pm. Princess nodded and I just sniffed her again. I want to smell her all day. “Let's go to sleep then, princess,” I said nd princess nodded again. She probably had a stern talking with her dad and mom. She needs to sleep. I let go of her and grabbed her hand gently. “Can I wash my face first?” princess asked and I just froze. I chuckled and cupped her cheek with my free hand. “Go ahead, princess. I'll wait.” I said and princess smiled. I let go f her hand and walked to my bed. Princess went to her carry on and grabbed her face products. She walked to the bathroom and I went to my bed and went in. I got comfortable as I removed my shirt. I was just in my pf pants. I like sleeping on my underwear but not for the first not with my mate. It took princess a while until she got out of the bathroom and she walked over to me and joined me on my bed, “Can I set some rules?” I said and princess looked at me as she laid beside me. I had my arm around her wasit. “Okay.” princess put the blanket over her shoulder. She was cuddling with me basically. “On your phone..” her phone was on the nightstand. “I need to see who your texting once a week. We don't have good service in the north so expect a call once a week from your parents. Texting is also going be a problem but you can send a text if it actually sends.” I said and princess just nodded. “So i can't connect my friend often?” princess asked and I just nodded. She sighed and nuzzled in my chest. I pulled her closer to me. “You don't need to change your number or anything. Also, know my parents are very strict. Expect to dress up often.” i said and princess nodded as her eyes were closed. I started to stroke her hair and I can tell she was falling asleep. “Good, I don’t want to change my number,” she said in a sleepy tone. I could help but look at her. “Off the lights,” i said and the lights of the room turn off. “Good noght princess,” I said in a low voice and kissed her head. I closed my eyes as I pulled her closer to me. I took in her scent and fell asleep.
