11. Confrontation with bullies

As soon as I step out into the hallway I can feel the negative energy in the air. There aren't many students out here, but I do see Delphine and her friends. As soon as they noticed me coming out of the room, they stalked up to me, and Delphine said, "Look at you and your suitemates taking longer than most of the class to finish a simple pop quiz!" All the girls giggle and agree with Delphine she continues on with "And of course you came from Primrose Isle, did you know we rarely get students from your Isle? Does that mean that the fairies from there just don't have a high enough IQ to go to school here? Why don't you just save yourself the time and just go back home?" This causes her and her friends to cackle like a bunch of witches. I just responded with, "Excuse me, but I don't need this kind of toxic negative energy in my life. Don't you have something better to do with your life, like fixing that broken nail of yours?" As I'm talking I use my magic to break the tip of the nail off her pointer finger and when she looks down and notices the broken nail she squeals and says "I just got these done! Ughhhhh!" Delphine turns on her heels and speed walks down the hall with her friends following close behind her. Second after the door opens and Lucy comes out of the room and notices that I look frustrated but I just shake my head at her so we wait in silence until Ivy and Poppy finish their quiz and join us in the hallway. As soon as we began walking, Lucy decided to pester me about what happened in the hallway before she came out, causing the others to also want to know. I state, "Well, Delphine and her group were waiting for me and just wanted to try and bring me down, but I wasn't having any of it." Of course, everyone wants more information, so I explain everything that happened, causing Poppy to bust up with laughter, and we all join in after. Poppy says "Oh that's great! I'll have to tell you who the other girls are later. It looks like we have made it to our next lesson, Potions 101." We enter the room and find our desk, which is set up in a similar fashion to the class before. We continue with some small talk while we wait for the lesson to begin.

As soon as the bell rings, our teacher enters the classroom and begins speaking in a sing song voice, "Helllllllooooooo class! I am Professor Carrington, the witch who will be teaching you all about Potions 101. I am so excited to have you all here! Let's go over the syllabus so you all understand what to expect during my lessons." She hands out the syllabus and spends the whole lesson going over it and answering any questions the other students have. It seems pretty straightforward, and I already know a good portion of what she will be teaching, so this lesson should be pretty easy for me! I'll have to see how the girls feel about the first two subjects, I can always offer to tutor if they need it.

This lesson went by pretty quickly without any fuss after, we didn't have Delphine and her friends in this one, so it was nice not to have to deal with her glaring the whole time. We complain about our next lesson the whole way there and while changing into our gym clothes. We make it into the gym, and everyone here is already stretching, so we follow along and get ready for the lesson.

The teacher walks in and tells everyone to gather around him, and then he follows with, "I am Professor Sloan, a vampire teaching all of you Physical training and combat for beginners. Do not slack off in my class, and it won't be too difficult. The first few weeks of this lesson will focus on physical training so you can build up strength before moving into combat. Start with 3 miles of running and end with crunches. Anyone who does not complete the 3 miles and at least 50 crunches will have to continue doing that exercise every day until you can complete it. You now have 40 minutes, so get moving!" The entire class starts running around the track, and everyone begins spreading out based on their pace. Lucy and I have always stayed in pretty good shape, so we are towards the front with Ivy and Poppy right on our heels. I hope we can all complete today's lesson so we don't have to continue repeating it.

We all finish the 3 miles together and move over to the area for crunches, then get started right away. I finish my 50 crunches with the others and finishing within seconds of me. We all high five and head over to Professor Sloan to give our times so we can head to the dressing rooms to get cleaned up for lunch. Professor Sloan tells us a good job for being the team to complete today's lesson. A few students finished before us, but not many. We head to the locker rooms to shower and get changed back into our uniforms for lunch. Delphine and her friends are in this lesson with us, but they looked to be struggling with the mile, so I wasn't worried about them trying anything at the end of the lesson. I'll have to watch my back at the beginning of this lesson from now on to make sure she isn't going to try anything in the locker rooms.

On our way to lunch, my stomach starts growling, and the others just giggle at me and state that I must be hungry. So I respond with "fighting off all the evil that is Delphine must have made me hungry!" Causing them to laugh even harder. We enter the cafeteria and notice that it's pretty empty, so we hurry to get food and then sit down so we can enjoy our lunch. As soon as we sit down to eat the doors to the cafeteria slam open, then Delphine and her friends come storming in. They all glare at our table as they walk by in silence. Everyone in the room seems to be waiting for something to happen, but they just walk right by and get in line for food. Lucy speaks up. "Well, that was super weird." We all agree and continue on with eating our food.
