when the darkness fades

chapter 8

I got up fairly early so I could shower and make sure I had everything I needed, after my shower I got dressed in my favourite jeans and a slightly oversized shirt which I knotted at the side to make it fit me without showing skin, that was one thing I didn’t want to show to much of, I didn’t mind showing my arms and a bit of leg but I would not show my stomach off in anyway. 

Once I was finishing dressing, I put my hair in a ponytail, put my black converses on grabbed my bag and headed to the kitchen for breakfast. ‘Morning Indy’ Drake called out before I turned into the kitchen, I replied ‘Morning’, Grammy had set out a hearty breakfast of pancake, bacon and scrabble eggs, after we had finished eating Drake and I gather our things and set off. 

You may be thinking my uncle is too old to be attending college but Grammy had him a couple years before my parents had me so we are closer in age it was funny watching people’s faces when I called him my uncle, you could see that they were trying really hard to figure it out but after my dad and Luca where born and at an age they could stay with my great grandparents Grammy and my granddad went traveling and sightseeing the world and when they came home and where settled again and my dad found my mum they found out they were expecting again I think it was more of a surprise then a shock.

We got in Drakes car, he had an old chevy which you could tell he loved and looked after it, he asked me what classes I was taking and when I finished telling him, he  told me he had a friend taking a few of my classes which I was kind of glad to know someone well a friend of a friend.

Jaxson POV

The name is Jaxson Blakesley, I am 23 years old and am will be the  Alpha of the Blue Water pack in about 6 months if I can find the girl of my dreams, yes I know I’m best friends with Alpha’s Luca little brother who might become either my Beta or Gramma but we have run in the same circle since we where pups, being there is a cross over in our territories so we decided that we would both have domain and set up a school and college a few shops etc so it was for everyone to enjoy, only thing was both alphas had to agree on the actions if anything was to arise, but we all knew that both packs would back each other up no matter what and that made us a strong allied pack. And seeing as my cousin is mates with Alpha Luca it made sense for us to join forces.

I grabbed my things together and got in my car as I was running late to meet up with everyone before classes started, he said his niece was starting at the college today and wanted us all to meet her so she knew some friendly faces. It was funny thinking a 24-year-old had a niece, but you always expect the unexpected with what the moon goddess does, maybe she did it for a reason. I got to college and gathered what I need from the passenger’s seat and got out and headed to our usual spot, I see that Cliff, Gabe and Clint are there, so I go over and start making small talk about nothing in particular. 

We see Drake and his niece making their way to us, he introduced her as Indiana but she like Indy as her nickname, I thought it suited her, she had natural tanned skin almost like caramel colour and the most beautiful hazel eyes you could image but the more I looked at them they looked like they changed to are more a green with flecks of hazel which was weird, she had dark chocolate coloured hair which had more of a wave to it than being curly or straight that came just pasted her shoulders, she was curvy but toned without being over the top if you could be that, 

She caught me slightly staring at her and she gave me the cutest smile and her cheeks went the sweetest shade of pink it made my heart skip a little which was weird as no girl has ever done that. Hmmm, this has me wondering about lot about her, I must have a chat to Drake and see if he can fill in the blanks. But ill wait until he introduces us before I pull him away, He walks up, ‘Jax this is Indy’,

 Drake said and ‘I am sure you are both in some of the same classes’. I was a little excited at the thought of being in the same class there was something about this girl that peek my interest, after Drake introduced Indy to Cliff, Gabe and Clint, I asked if I could have a chat about my car with a wink.. ‘So Drake what is the information we needed to know about her’ I asked him when we were far enough away so no one else could hear, ‘Oh umm yeah maybe you should know a little about her so you can avoid somethings’ he said. 

He went on to explain that she was in a really bad accident a few months ago and from that she got amnesia meaning she cant remember certain things about her life, she can remember her father passing and knowing her mother had passed too but she didn’t remember that her mother had remarried or what had caused the accident or really who she was. So we all had to keep quiet and be discreet with our mind linking and maybe just use our phones In front of her, He also fill me in saying she has being having dreams and visions while she is awake and that’s why his Grandmother wanted her to come to this college with him and I guess us, so we could keep and eye on her.

 I replied ‘Crap, I didn’t know she went through all that, he added there was more to the story but his grandmother and brother where holding that information close to their chests until it was necessary that everyone else needed to know. I wonder what else there was, but I was willing to do my part to help Alpha Luca. We walked back and I checked with Indy what classes she had; she pretty much had all the same classes which gave Drake a bit of relief knowing she would be safe. I checked the time and said we better head off to classes, everyone left, and I walked with Indy asking the occasional question about how she was liking living here. 

We walked into the class and I left her with the teacher as he was giving her some paperwork so she would catch up, I waved so she could sit near me, she as slid past me to the next seat I was hit with a scent of vanilla and roses but it wasn’t strong so I just assumed it was Indy’s perfume or lotion something girly and took no more notice of as my wolf “Axel” didn’t react like he would he it was our mate. We continued our day going from class to class and her sitting next to me hitting me with her sweet perfume smell which I fell head over heels for.

 After about the 3rd class we didn’t have any more that day, but I knew that Drake still had one so I told her I would sit with her and wait for Drake to finish, and I messaged him saying that too. He replied with a thumbs up.

We sit down, ‘Indy’ I asked she looked at me and smiled as if to give me the ok to ask ‘Drake said you get visions sometimes? She gave me a funny looked ‘sorry if that is too personal just my mum use to have them’ I finished. ‘Oh, sorry, some people think your crazy for having visions’ she replied, I don’t think your crazy just wanted to let you know if you wanted to talk I have an understanding of what is happening to you’ I said. 

She gave me a kind look and “thank you, I may just take you up on that offer’, I smiled back and said anytime I would help day and night, I handed her my number and quickly said for emergencies so she didn’t think I was some kind of creep just randomly giving her my number. She accepted without a second thought and put it in her phone as she did and paused, ‘can I put you under Jax in my phone’, I smiled and said of course.
