Scene 1 – Amal and Sophia Seek Salvation
The room was drowned in crimson shadows that danced across the walls like furious tongues of fire.
Amal and Sophia sat cross-legged on the floor in the center of the room, surrounded by ancient books, sacred symbols, and a large wooden cross hanging from the wall.
The candles around them were arranged in a perfect circle, their wax dripping in thick, blood-red trails that slid slowly across the cold floor.
Amal’s face was stiff and pale, drained of all color, while Sophia’s eyes were wide—burning with a mixture of terror and determination.
Amal read in a trembling yet steady voice from a worn-out, yellowed manuscript, while Sophia whispered in a tone closer to chanting than speaking:
