CHAPTER 17: Cheerleader

“How was that?” He breaks our third kiss and I nod not knowing the differences between them “Okay?” He sighs not satisfies with my answer “Obviously it’s going to be more magical with the guy you like but how did it feel?” I think about it for a while 

“I think liked the second one better” He grins “So you like when I pull your hair?” “And a little less tongue” I add scrunching my face and he chuckles laying down whilst I was still straddlng on his lap “You're pretty good for a virgin” He tucks his arms behind his head to look at me “Hey! Who said I was a virgin?” He gives me a deadpan look “So you're not a virgin?" I look away shyly "So what if I’m a virgin?” I quickly say defending myself 

He suddenly pulls me to lay down on his chest making me squeal “Such a virgin” He chuckles as I roll off but lie by him “Don't do that again” I punch his shoulder “Do what?” He whispers lifting himself up and facing me on his side “Be a jerk like always” He scoots closer “You can try this too?” Wintyr suggests and leans down to kiss my lips again 

“KIDS” Natalia bursts into the room “OH JESUS I DON'T WANT GRANDKIDS NO, GET OFF HER!” Natalia smacks Wintyr off me and I blush sitting up embarrassed “MUM!” Wintyr exclaims also embarrassed 

“Please tell me you were going to use protection?!!?” She looks at us worriedly “Mum seriously” “It’s not what is looks like Mrs Kim” She covers her face still in shock 

“I had a feeling this would happen, I left you some condoms in your room, where did you put it, here?” She suddenly opens his bed side drawer that I had tidied before but he shuts it quickly “What?” She asks confused “Get out mum” He states “What are you hiding?” She asks suspiciously 

“Mum seriously go” Wintyr snaps really serious now “Show me or your dad will have to come in here himself” He sighs out then moves away “Happy??” He opens it for her to see "Hm" She examines then she looks to me “I’m sorry about Wintyr, don’t do anything else to her! Jeez keep it in your pants baby” She squeezes his cheeks then leaves

I look at Wintyr who was looking at her in shock then he looks down to his drawer in even more shock “What the f**k?!” I hear him murmur beginning to look inside “Where is my-“ 

“Cigarettes? I hid it for it for you” He looks at me quickly “What? Hid? Why?” “Well cause of that obviously” I point to where his mother had left "Jesus" He sits at the edge of the bed covering his face finally breathing again

“She knows but I told her it wasn’t a big deal” “So you really do smoke?” “Socially” I come in front of him “Thanks for hiding it” He nods to me and I shrug “You saved me another earful” “You saved me from seeing Cole today, so it’s the least” He smiles lazily 

“Seeing who? I didn’t see anyone” He pretends to not know what I was talking about “Hey stop being nice to me, you’re still my enemy” “Yeah yeah, whatever” I lay down on his bed still embarrassed “I can't believe your mum saw us kiss” “I know, this is why I never bring girls home” He shudders still sat up “Was it a good experience at least?” He turns then winks at me “Don’t make it weird” I kick him with my foot then roll on my front to check my notifications 

“Hey, why do you have a mini fridge in your room by the way” I ask when I hear him turn on his game console “Cause why the hell not” I watch him get his controller “Yeah, it’s pretty cool” “Want a drink?” He walks up to it “Nah” I shake my head typing into the group chat letting them know I actually exercised today

Saturday couldn’t come any quicker, and I was currently wearing my sportswear packing some normal clothes into my duffle bag “Ugh” I sigh sadly putting my hair in a ponytail not really feeling this whole wake up early thing

Hey, are you ready? :) 

My phone buzzes as Wintyr’s text comes through “Why did I agree to wake up at 8am to play?!?!” I cry to myself picking up my phone to reply 

Yeah

Good cause i'm outside

I look out my window to see his car parked up front “Great” I whisper to myself walking down the stairs and into the kitchen to grab a banana “Melissa, do you see that?” My dad looks at me with wide eyes asking my step mum “I think it’s a miracle” Ruby stops eating her cereal too surprised “Maybe it’s her ghost cause she's never been up this early” Ruby adds to their act and I roll my eyes realising what they meant 

“Blame Wintyr, he got me up to train him for his game tonight” I open the fridge to get a bottle of water “I think we need more of this Wintyr if you wake up this early” My dad suggests and I gag “Please I’ve had enough of him” Ruby chuckles at my words "Is Ruby joining you guys?" My dad asks as he raises the cup to his lips "Isn't he your friend?" He asks her making me choke up a little "No, I didn't get invited" She says after she finishes chewing "It's juat training nothig else" I quickly intercept before my dad could pry further "Hm cool, is he a baller?" I nod quickly

“Are you going to be at the game later?” Ruby asks and I nod “Same, so see you two there” She says cheerily and I force a smile “See you” ‘Wintyr’s going to be so happy your coming’ I say in my head wanting to tell her so bad, it was way too hard keeping it from her "Have a good day honey" I hear my dad say as I exit the kitchen

“Hey” I open Wintyr's back door and throw my bag in, then get in the front “Took your sweet time” I look at him dressed in his basketball kit “I like your kit” “It’s my training kit” I look at the nice bold colours designed over it “No like, I really like it” I put my hand on his chest picking the top up “Nike? Your team is sponsored by Nike?” He grins proudly “That means you guys must be so good” I let go of him then do my seatbelt “Like I did not beat your a*s yesterday” “Hey! First of all that doesn't count and secondly I’ve been watching basketball so I will win today” I convince myself as I watched up on some games with the lakers with my dad last night 

“Looking forward to it Gabriella” He says amused pulling out my driveway "Your dads watching us" He nods over to the kitchen window "Oh my gosh" I say embarrassed covering my face "It's all good, he's cool" I glare at Wintyr then look back at my dad fixing his glasses in the same position "Hurry up and drive off" I rush him almost out of breath 

“Here” Wintyr drops his black paffur into my lap again when we reach a red light “I have a jacket on” I state the obvious “Take it off then” He rolls his eyes, one hand on the wheel and one outside his window “You need a coat too, it’s going to snow today” “I don’t need it” He looks out the window unbothered “Neither do I” He gives me a warning look making me roll my eyes

“You’re wearing a jumper not a coat” I sigh then pull off my jumper and put his coat on “Better” He says under his breath focusing on the road again “If you want me to steal this coat that’s fine, north face puffers are hard to get nowadays so don’t be too shocked when it goes missing” He starts laughing at my future robbery “Sure” I grin taking in the scent of his jacket 'niceee'

The drive was a bit long, about 40 minutes as we drove more into the city, it was way more busy than our area and the cars here were much more richer “Capital City” I read the court that we arrive at “What’s your team called?” “New York Raiders” He switches off the engine “Raiders? Cool you better win” I warn him again getting out the car “I will, just for you” He takes our bags from the back 

"My dad doesn't really know we are dating so I'll have to update him every few hours" I say as I text my father getting out the car "You gonna tell him the truth?" He asks coming behind me "No, I'd have to lie cause he would definitely tell the family, we don't keep any secrets" He scans my face then nods "Ironic" "I know right" I say feeling bad about keeping it from them “Come” He leads me into the building leaving the topic alone

“This place is huge” I say when we finally find an empty court “I know" He takes his coat from me then walks away from me 

"Ready?” He drops our bags in the corner getting his ball out “Ask yourself that question Win Win” He pauses standing straight “Don’t call me that” “Then call me Gabby” “Is Gabriella not your name?” “Yeah it is” “So I don't see the problem” He answers quickly and I slump “You don't call me that again, only Solar is allowed, okay?” I scowl then nod eventually “Hurry up, I’m really going beat your a*s right now”

“I’M GOING TO DIE HELP” I lay on the floor trying to survive “Jeez girl” Wintyr is stood above me watching me fall to my death “Thought you were gonna beat me?” “I-“ I start but fail catch my breath “Come here” He sits me up then hands me his water bottle cause I had finished mine about 2 hours ago “I beat you again” He states the obvious “So you’re buying me a meal” I put my finger on his mouth so he could shut up “You’re so unfit” He jokes running his hand through my ponytail then tugging my hair playfully

“Better?” Wintyr asks when I down his water “Much” I nod then he helps me up “I can show you around the academy” I nod “Please will you? It's so cool in here?” He smirks “I will, just for you, personal tour” “Cool” I smile following his lead

After our tour, which contained us messing about, joking around and mostly fighting some more, I was sat in the cafeteria waiting for Wintyr to come back from his car as he had left something behind 

“Gabby” Someone calls my name from afar and I look behind me “Hi” I say quietly waving at Cole who was with two other boys, I wasn't fazed right now because my body froze and went into panic mode remembering I looked horrible "Okay" I whisper to myself turning myself around quickly and looking down into my phone 

“I'm back” Wintyr sits in front of me then drops a bunch of snacks onto the table “Did you go to the shops to buy all this?” I ask surprised cause I was sure this wasn’t in his car this morning “I’m not sure what you liked so I bought you one of each, I got Takis though, I know you like those” “Oh my gosh Wintyr” I pick up the Takis as he takes the Cheetos “Thanks dude, I’ll pay you back” He lays on the bench so I couldn’t see him anymore “Do what you please, I don’t want your money anyways” He gets his phone and begins to text somebody on the other end "I will pay you back" I say promising him but he continues to ignore me

“You’re going to smash it! I’ll be sat in the bleachers” Hours pass by and I had gone into his car to get changed and freshen up and now we were now stood in front of the team's changing room just an hour away from the game “Are you sure you'll be fine alone? I’ll be gone for a bit long” “It’s fine Ruby is coming” “She is? Cool” He slowly smiles which doesn't go unnoticed by me “I knew you’d be happy” I hit his chest and he playfully groans “Of course I am” He pushes me away shyly and I chuckle “You’re such a girl” I tease him and he rolls his eyes “Just focus Wintyr, you can do it” I give him a quick pep talk “See you in an hour” I push him back and he waves walking in

I decide to go out for some time and get some fresh air before the game and to also explore around the city that I rarely ever came to “OMG” I squeal when I see the park which had a zoo imbedded “Wintyr would be so scared of y'all” I grin as I watch the pandas eat “I’m totally gonna bring him here” I chuckle evilly remembering his fear of animals *beep* My phone tells me to head back, I sulk but go anyways knowing I couldn’t miss the game

Ruby was here when I get back "Hey" I grab her attention as I sit next to her “Where you been?” She looks up at me with a smile “Getting some air” I reply and she nods “Game is starting now” She looks ahead and I watch the team shooting hoops “Such a boy” I say to myself as I spot Wintyr watching Ruby then waving at her “He's so cute” She says waving back. I then look to Cole who winks at me and I blush quickly looking away 

The game was looking pretty good and as promised I was cheering Cole on, whilst Ruby was cheering Wintyr. Cole would always wave at me so I’d have to wave back but I was really happy with the way Wintyr was playing too, I just hope he knew I was paying attention to him too cause there'd be times he’d catch me staring at Cole so I silently would say sorry 

“Dude, you're paying more attention to Cole than your own boyfriend” Ruby whispers and I shrug “Cole told me to cheer him on and Wintyr doesn’t need my cheer, he’s amazing anyways” She awes hitting my arm “You’re so cuteeee” She hugs my arm and I whine “OFFFF” I pull my arm away from her
