I gave him my bag and he carried it for me , we walked to my house talking about my day and how school was . When we were close to my yard , I reached out for my bag and he gave it to me .
" so , we've reached your house , huh ? " , he said , a bit sad
" yeah , we could always go back to the station and return here if you like , we can do that the whole day " , I joked
" really ?! , we could ? " , he said joyfully kidding
" No , you can't ! " , I heard my dad's voice
" jeez , dad ! , how long have you been standing there ? " , I asked , a bit spooked
" welllllll , let's see , the part where you wanted to galavant the streets with this guy the whole day and forget you have a family to get to " , he said sarcastically , mimicking thinking
" come on dad , you are exaggerating " , I said with an eye roll
" no I'm not ! , are you going to introduce me to your friend ? " , he asked , clearly waiting for me to introduce him so he could bite his head off , I looked at him unsure
" ohhh , yeah , dad , this is Duncan , Duncan , this is Dad " , I introduced them and dad was exploding by this time , even if he wasn't showing it , I could see .
" nice to meet you sir " , Duncan reached out his hand for a hand shake , this was the most tense moment ever as my dad waited for a while and shook his hand , after I gave him a little glare , of course , he wasn't going to go easy on him , I know that , neither of my family is .
" so , you guys go to the same school ? " , not waiting for him to answer , " obviously not , you must be in college or something , you are way too old for my daughter " , he said , looking him up and down , I was sooo embarrassed by this time , this is definitely going to chase him away
" Dad ! , stop it ! , we are not dating " , I said to him a bit angry , why is he acting like this ? , why couldn't he just wait for us to get home and scold me instead ? .
" Yet ! , you are not dating ' yet ' " , he said sarcastically quoting 'yet' with his fingers, looking angry
" You are unbelievable dad ! , Duncan , I'll see you around , bye . If you ever wanna see me again " , I said the last part silently, it was hard saying goodbye but I guess today wasn't my day , did dad really have to embarrass me like that ? , Duncan hasn't even asked me out . I went inside the house and was amazed with what was in front of me , my mom and my siblings were watching from the window and were even pretending to be washing the dishes .
" hey sweetie " , mom said with a pretend smile , I just rolled my eyes and headed to my room upstairs , I took out my phone and dialed Aggy , she picked up after 2 rings , that was fast.
" hey girl , did you get a kiss today ? " , she asked , totally happy and eager to hear what happened
" WHAT ?! , Aggy ! , no ! , I'm gonna hang up now , I guess calling was a mistake " , I answered a bit angrily , not at her thou , but at my dad
" no , no , no , sorry , what were you saying ? , what happened ? " , she asked , clearly worried
" Can you believe my mom ? " , I said , frustrated
" what has she done now ? " , she asked
" she told dad that I met a guy , dad saw him today and he burst " , I was now at the verge of crying , my tears about to roll down but I held them back
" WHAT ?! " , she asked
" yeah , he was pissed ", I told my friend , she was the only one I shared my troubles with and she knew how to comfort me , we talked for a while and said our goodbyes and I hung up . It was now dinner time and I was going to face the wrath of my parents , ' Uhhhggg ' , I am sooo tired , why can't they just leave me alone and let me be ? , I am old enough to make my own decisions . I went to the bathroom to go take a shower and did my night routine , when I was done I dried myself and wore my pajamas and then headed downstairs , to my surprise I found my little brother and sister , but no sign of our parents, I asked them what was going on and they also seemed to know nothing as they just shrug their shoulders , I went to the kitchen and made a quick meal , sphaghetti and mincemeat . While we were enjoying our dinner , our parents entered , they were laughing like what they did was normal , like going out without informing anyone looked normal to them , they found us looking at them and they looked surprised , with take aways in the plastic my father was carrying.
" You cooked ? " , my father asked
" someone had to cook " , I answered sarcastically and my siblings just carried on eating , my mother tried saying something when I stood up and headed upstairs , I got into my room and lay on my bed , I took out my phone and started texting Duncan
" hey stranger " , he might be asleep by this time but it's still a little early , it was 9:30 p.m so I might be lucky
" hey beautiful , how are you ? " , he texted back , he answered a bit too fast and that got me smiling like a crazy woman , I thought he wasn't going to text back after what happened , but he did , he was doing things to me that I never experienced , I was head over heels for him and I didn't know how he felt because he hasn't said anything yet and I was getting very impatient about this
" I am good , thanks and yourself ? " , I replied
" I am great , as long as I keep seeing you , I'll be fantastic " , that got me blushing like a mad person , this guy had his way with words and he was always saying the right things , I loved it!
" alright , I was just checking on you , I thought my dad chased you away , I am about to sleep now " , I said , waiting for his answer eagerly
" that won't happen , ever , can I come see you for a minute ? " , I was so relieved, not that he wanted to see me that late, but because he wasn't angry at me for what happened and that he didn't run away
" at this time ? " , I asked
" yes , I kinda miss you " he said and I was blushing like crazy
" can I make a plan tomorrow ?, today my dad is out of it and I don't want it to be suspicious when he comes to check on me ", I answered, knowing my dad could come check on me
" alright , Goodnight beautiful " , he replied and I felt a bit of sadness in the text , I was a bit sad too
" Goodnight " , I replied , wishing for this conversation not to end , " I wish this conversation wouldn't have to end " , he texted back , my eyes widened , it was like he read my mind , " me too " , I replied
" Can I video call ? " he said
" sure " , I texted back and right after I sent that text , he called . We talked until I dozed off , I'm not sure what happened to him but I am sure he noticed that I dozed off and he eventually went to bed too.
