8 Todd left the house, leaving his brother alone for a few minutes. Or however long it took for him to feel ready to continue. He wasn't going to give Mitch a hard time about it. He'd been through enough in the last half hour and Todd had no intention of compounding that by nitpicking on some petty issue. Before he left the basement, Mitch was still holding the gun, trembling. He had that “don't f**k with me” look and Todd felt it best to wait outside, though he half expected to hear another gunshot once he was upstairs. But the house remained quiet and he hoped his brother just needed some time to regain his composure instead of what Todd thought he was going to do.
