Chapter 9 - Back in time

She was running in the corridors feeling her heart in her ears and she was sure that soon will collapse if she wasn't finding a place to sit. She only needed to sit and calm down. A million thoughts were crossing her mind and she could not put the finger on not even 1 of them. She was scared, confused, and lost. She could feel tears pinching her eyes but was holding her breath because she did not want to start crying in a hallway and be seen by somebody. She saw a hidden area where students would go and study quietly and she went directly there. The place was amazingly calm and retreat, far away from all the noise a sea of students made. Somehow they managed to arrange a fountain in the middle of this relaxing room and even a tree! And all around the fountain were benches where you could sit and have back your thoughts or just look at the mesmerizing water falling and let your mind wander. On one of those benches she sat and she began to feel cold. She was sure the temperature didn't change, but somehow it did... "She looked down at her feet; they were naked and covered in blood. Some odd-come-shorts were covering her feet. She was looking in disbelief at how the blood was staining the pure white of the snow. She was in shock and because of that, she wasn't capable to move or react. She was sure she was on the bench in the calm room and now she was sitting in the snow, barely covered. Her teeth started to move involuntarily, a clear sign that she was really cold. In the odd situation that she was in, she was trying to remember when she was that cold, but she soon realized that her mind was not processing anymore, surely because of the cold. She felt something hard behind her and with a small movement of her head, she realized that it was a tree. She sighted the moment she placed her back on it but she covered herself even more with her hands, trying to get a little bit of warmth. She was preparing herself mentally that she will die there, in the snow, next to a tree. She was thinking about how Tia would find her. Probably she would place her to missing persons until one day she will have to accept that she lost her friend. Her eyes became heavy and she was about to fall asleep when she saw movements in front of her eyes but wasn't too clear. She wanted to smile but her teeth were clenched so hard that it was an impossible move. She started to hear her name... Tia was in shock. She was moving Rose like crazy but she wasn't reacting and she was really cold. She was expiring steam from the cold, but it wasn't so cold in that room, and she began to sweat out of fear so she took out her coat. She heard Gray behind her and came directly to Rose taking her hands in his and placing her head on his chest. He was the second one in shock in just two minutes. He was trying to articulate a sentence but he was unable. Finally, he managed to do it and he looked scared at Tia, " What the hell happened," he whispered. Tia could see the shock on his face and she was sure that the same thing was on hers. " I swear I don't know. That is how I found her after she ran away." Gray was trying to make her warm because he could feel throw his clothes that she was freezing, and she was also getting her lips purple. Fear started to crawl through his stomach and he realized that he wouldn't have wanted to lose her, even though they knew each other for short time. " Let's take her to the hospital, this is not normal. Is it the first time that she had done this?" Tia nodded her head, incapable to speak and she stopped really fast widening her eyes when she saw that her friend's eyes were moving, a sign that she was waking up. Rose mumbled, " I am so cold.." Gray, took off his jacket in no time and placed it on her shoulders grabbing her harder to keep her warm. In his mind was chaos and he wasn't able to understand what just happened. For a few minutes, the three of them stood still, not moving and having so many things to say, but the shock was still there, making it impossible for them to speak. The first one to break the silence was Tia. She placed herself on her knees in front of Rose, taking her arms in hers and whispering, " Rose, what happened? I have never seen you like that." Inexplicably Rose was having such an urge to cry but was trying her best to hold back her tears. She was trying so hard that her throat was hurting. She whispered, but she kept her eyes closed, " I don't know Tia. I know I came here on the bench to clear my mind a little bit and the second thing I know I was in the snow, wearing bearly no clothes and I was trying to warm myself. It was so vivid that I had the impression that I will die of cold." Tia and Gray were exchanging looks. That would explain why she looked like she was in hypothermia, but what could not be explained was how a daydream was able to affect her so much. Someone cleared her throat behind them, making three pairs of eyes turn to the intruder. At first, Rose was not able to identify the beautiful woman in front of her, but she remembered who she was just when she started to speak. " The master awaits you." And she was looking at Rose like Gray and Tia did not exist in the room. Rose could feel how Gray tensed his muscles because she was still sitting at his chest and she was afraid that he will say something, but Tia was the one that sat on her feet, taking the word, " Thank to your master for the honor given to my friend, but she doesn't feel well and that is why he will need to choose another time for the first meet." It was clear that she did not like the answer but she nodded her head and turned around. Tia forced a smile on her face and turned to Rose that who was oddly all blushed on Gray's chest, " Now that I bought you more time, what would you like to do?" " A hot bath," Rose whispered Tia saw Gray's eyes sparkling and she could have sworn that she had seen a glimpse of energy through the air.
