Gray woke up fresh and smiling. His dreams were gorgeous with the beautiful girl he had the chance to meet the day before. He smiled and jumped out of bed. He was sleeping naked so he took a robe over fast and went out of the room.
In the living room, he found the friend he needed for the idea he had before he even drank his coffee.
He was proud of himself and he had a feeling that he might exaggerate a little bit but, ‘gosh’ he thought, it was something about that girl… something that he could not put his finger on.
“Scott!” he got out his royal intonation and made Scott jump from the couch right when he was drinking from his hot coffee making him spill a little bit on his legs, dangerously close to a certain more sensitive area.
He raised his eyebrow at his friend.
“Damn it! My prince?” he remained on his feet with coffee in his hand and all over him.
Gray was trying to keep his laugh, he knew he would infuriate his friend and would refuse to do the task he was about to ask,
“I need you to do something for me,” he said.
Scot raised his eyebrow even higher, almost impossible,
“No! My prince? And for that, do you need to scream so early in the morning? I haven’t even drunk my coffee and now the half is on me!”
Gray could not hold himself anymore and started a really good laugh. He was holding his belly and each time he would raise his eyes at his friend he would start laughing harder.
Scott would not move his position and looked, in apparency, not moved from the amusing moment his friend and the prince were having.
“If you want to spend all the morning laughing you can tell me my prince, but I would like to do what you wanted me to do before I go to my daily chores. Also, we have a video meeting with your parents later.” That last sentence made him smile and that was the moment Gray stopped.
He cleared his thought and retook his sober expression. The remainder of having to talk with his parents took away all his good mood.
"Ok then," he said.
"I want you to search through this building for two occupants, the first's name is Rose, and the second one..., Laetitia! I want you to find out what apartment they are living in. After that I want you to order a few bouquets, Lily-of-the-valley. You understood?"
Scott was looking at him with eyes wider and wider as Grey was talking and gave him the to-do 'list'. He tried to restrain himself but his curiosity won him over.
"You have something to tell me Gray?" he asked with a smile.
"Yes," Gray said while he turned his back on his friend and headed to his room.
"Coffee, black please," and closed the door to his room.
Scott's jaw dropped. He did not see that coming!
"Run, run for your life! Her mind was screaming while she was running toward the woods. She was feeling the cold of the wet earth under her feet but the most of cold was located under her skin. The man with yellow eyes was chasing her. She knew it was just a matter before he grabbed her. And would be her last days, how it was for HIM...the love of her life!
The tears started to run down her cheeks and felt hurt in her heart. She knobbed her head and refused to let herself in the hands of that out-of-this-world man.
She knew that the path she took would take her to a cliff higher than any other region. This was something HE knew also. He wanted to make her go into a corner and grab her. Her breath was heavier and heavier. She would never leave some other man put his hands on her, other than his love that was gone now. She could feel the emptiness in her soul, the emptiness his death left... She stopped. In front of her was the never-ending sea, and beneath her were its raging waves that were pushing themselves hard into the walls of the rock. She felt him behind her before hearing him speak.
"You have nowhere to go. You are finally mine!"
She clenched her teeth and turned back to him.
"I was and am only to him. If no longer in this life, in the next for sure. And is nothing you can do about it." and turned back.
"No!" he screamed with one hand trying to grab her.
"Yes," she whispered while she took the jump. His lover's face was the last thing she saw before peace took over her.
Rose held herself up putting her hand on the trough feeling a burn inside. She saw the room's door almost flying and Tia in the door, all a mess.
"Rose! Are you ok?" she asked with panic in her voice.
Rose could not say anything not knowing exactly what she could say.
"You screamed Rose! You scared the hell out of me!"
Rose whispered,
"I screamed? Impossible. I think I was dreaming..."
The dream was still so vivid in her mind that she was still having a cold but she was thanking God that she was safe in her bed.
She realized she needs to calm down Laetitia,
"I am ok Tia. For sure I was dreaming." the doorbell rang. The booth almost jump from where they were standing.
Tia started mumbling while going to the door to check on whoever was ringing so early in the morning.
Rose was waiting to hear Tia screaming at whoever dared to ring but she heard nothing, only the door being open and closed.
She felt the smell before she saw Tia entering her room with her arms full of bouquets of Lily-of-the-Valley and putting them on the bed at her feet. Tia gave her the card that came with them.
"This smell reminds me of you. Don't forget to water them how you watered me. Your most faithful neighbor, Gray"
Disregarding the small joke at the end she raised her eyes to look at her friend whispering with her eyes flooding with tears,
"How did he know ?"
