Chapter 19I hit the door on the next floor and shoved through. Down below the dead things clambered up the stairs, sometimes one fell but the others didn't stop. They just kept climbing up after me. I took a quick look around the corridor and didn't see any dead things on this level, but I did see an abandoned IV stand lying among the shattered hospital ceiling tiles. I grabbed it and shoved it through the door handles. It might not hold the dead things back for long, but it'd give me a head start so long as I didn't run into any more.
Downstairs they'd surprised me. I got away from the first couple but somehow the word had gotten out and the rooms started disgorging more and more of them. If this had been reality I might not have gotten away but in the dream I was faster and stronger tha
