Nicole LeMart comes from the most powerful bloodline of black witches. The Rogue King wanted to steal their secret heirloom to defeat us but the LeMart family refused to give in their family secret and did everything in their power to hide The Secret Heirloom of Dark Rings.

Scarlett was processing what Vincent said as she asked him curiously,

"Did he get the secret heirloom after assassinating the whole family?"

"How did Nicole survive then?"

Vincent turned his face away from her as he continued,

"Nicole's family did everything in their power to hide Nicole and her big brother from the Rogue King but her big brother couldn't just see his parents dying at the Rogue King's hands so he stepped out of their magical safe leaving Nicole behind with a bracelet that could conceal her powers and keep her safe but unfortunately her big brother died along with them and Nicole was left behind hidden when I reached the scene I got the message from her brother and discovered the way to Nicole, he begged with his last breathes to keep her sister safe and sound so I brought her back with me. I didn't wanted her to be discovered untill I make sure I can keep her safe so I kept her in sleep. I wasn't keeping her imprisoned I just didn't have any other option but to keep her in sleep so that the bracelet could cover her Aura and powers and that'd keep her safe." Vincent looked at Scarlett who seemed a little startled by the truth.

"Why is he after Nicole?"

"Only Nicole can lead him to the Secret Heirloom of the Dark Rings."

Scarlett eyes went wide as she realized how reckless she was. She had put Nicole in danger without even realizing it.

Vincent saw her expression and could tell what Scarlett was thinking.

"It's alright, you didn't knew and you both are safe and sound."

"Oh God, what have I done?" The sudden hit of realization was awfully terrifying for Scarlett.

Vincent scoots closer as he holds Scarlett's hands bringing her back to her senses.

"Scarlett, you didn't put her in danger because you never took off her bracelet back in New York, you did that after you arrived here and that alone was enough to ensure her safety. She hasn't been discovered by anyone but me, even I was able to trace her because of you, the pull we have led me having visions of you and your environment and that is how I found you. Relax. You did great."

Scarlett calmed down but suddenly looked up at him.

"Visions?" Scarlett was baffled.

She did executed her plan successfully but what have her away was the Moon goddess damned mate bond.

Vincent smirked as Scarlett pulled her hands out of his hold.

"Dang it."

"But I don't think Nicole is aware of anything."

"Her memory is somewhat disoriented, I think that's something her brother did to her."

Vincent says as Scarlett tilts her head slightly,

"It means she doesn't even remember about the heirloom, right?"

"That's possible. I'm not sure." Scarlett nods as she gets up and looks at Vincent.

"Thanks for telling me. I believe you."

Vincent's eyes went wide for a second as he looked at her, "You trust me now?"

"Yes. I do." A warm smile make it's way on Vincent's face as Scarlett looks at him. 'Why is he so handsome? Scarlett what the f**k are you thinking about?!' Scarlett scolded herself inwardly as Vincent gets up from the couch.

"I'll get going now. Sleep well." Vincent walks towards the door as Scarlett stood there startled by his sudden change in behavior. The Vincent she knew would use every possible way to stay close to her. She even thought of how she will trick him to leave but to her surprise Vincent was willingly leaving putting Scarlett at ease.

"Goodbye." Vincent nodded and walked out as Scarlett locked the door and peeped from the peephole to see if he really went.

'Something doesn't feel right.' Scarlett made sure that Vincent left as she went to her bedroom and sat on the bed.

'He definitely has something up his sleeves. Something is fishy.' Scarlett couldn't help but think about what Vincent was up to.

The next morning, Scarlett places the breakfast on the table,

"Nicole, hurry up."

"COMING!" Nicole yells back from her bedroom as Scarlett shakes her head on frustration.

Nicole walks skips her way towards the table and sits on a stool happily.

"Someone is happy on a Monday morning?" Scarlett raises her eyebrow at Nicole as Nicole giggles.

"You know, there is this new boy in my class, he is quite lonely and his parents always drop him off early at school so I want to go early as well. I'll keep him company."

Scarlett narrows her eyes at Nicole.

"So you are friends with him now?"

Nicole nods, "He is my first friend. Everyone ignores me but he didn't ignore me." Nicole smiles brightly at Scarlett.

As Nicole was enrolled in the school mid term, it was hard for her to make friends as everyone had their own group of friends and didn't wanted to bother with Nicole. Scarlett was informed about this by Nicole's homeroom teacher so she paid extra attention to Nicole. Now finally Nicole made her first friend and Scarlett was sure that Nicole was also his friend. Scarlett was quite relieved about it so she decided to drop Nicole off early. Scarlett would do anything just to see that bright smile shining on Nicole's face.

"Alright, hurry up then I'll drop you off early at school."

"Thank you sis. You are the best!!" Nicole giggles as she digs in.

Scarlett parked her car and got off. It was still early and her classes were scheduled in evening so Scarlett went back home. Scarlett was fishing out her keys when she bumped on a hard wall.

"Ouch!"

"Look where you go." the familiar voice ringed in Scarlett's ears as she looked up at Vincent.

"Are you following me?"

"No."

Vincent blinked innocently as Scarlett rolled her eyes at him.

Scarlett walked past him towards her apartment and Vincent seemed to follow her, Scarlett reached her door as she turned back angrily,

"You aren't following me? What is this then? What exactly do you want?"

Vincent shrugged,

"What do you mean?-" Vincent takes out a key and unlocks the door beside Scarlett's door. 'Room 302'

"-I'm not following you. I'm simply entering my apartment."

Scarlett looks at him with her mouth wide open in shock. She knew something was fishy.

"By the way, Nice to meet you. I'm your new neighbor." Vincent smirks,

"Be careful, little girl. You now have a Vamp next door." Vincent winks at Scarlett and walks in his apartment and locks his door with a 'thak'.

Scarlett stands baffled with her mouth still wide open as she groans in frustration while kicking on his door.

"I can't believe you. You jerk!"
