Who am I?
The breeze feels good against my skin as I lay here in my favorite meadow. The birds in the nearby tree sing a song that sounds much like a lullaby. I cant help but hum along singing to their song. My eyes shut and bask in the silence I so desperately need sometimes, especially lately. I know as future Alpha of my pack I should be off training and shadowing my father but I just cant bring myself to it. Not yet. Who am I? "You doubt yourself to much Mel." Zuri broke the silence in my head. "You are Future Alpha Melody MoonWright of the LARGEST PACK around" "You were destined for this" "We are one did you forget? I can feel the strength in your bones and not just because of me your wolf ! "but because of he training and lessons from your father. I can feel the love and compassion in your heart just like Luna Aleni!" They way Zuri spoke of me and all I am brought tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart. You know, if it wasn't for my wolf I don't know where I would be sometimes. "Zuri, you have so much faith in me, you see me and who I am even when my humanly counterpart can't! I pray to the moon goddess I never disappoint you." I went to continue when my eyes shot open and my body on instinct sat up from the grass ! Zuri spoke first. " He is Near!". From the amazing scent that filled my nose, I knew the HE Zuri spoke of could only be one person. MY MATE!
My heart fluttered and we became anxious. Suddenly it was hard to breathe and I could not gather my thoughts. I'm not ready ! Its to early ! The ball is still two days away ! "Find him now!" Zuri spoke like a teenage girl who had her first crush. The butterflies in my stomach from his scent alone was crazy. I understood why my wolf would want to hurry to her mate... OUR mate ! I spoke again out loud. "We must be patient Zuri. You know this better than anyone. After all you are the one who taught me that patience is key and most rewarding when timing is right. It was time to head back to the pack house . For some reason I was all to excited to get back to the chaos I was trying to get away from. Don't get me wrong I love my pack and everyone in it but sometimes with all that is on my shoulders I just need time. Time to breathe and regroup. Zuri started to chuckle in my head. "Whats to funny?" I spoke? "Oh nothing, its not like you are trying to hide the fact that you are extremely excited , almost as excited as I am to meet our mate!". What makes you think that? "You're really asking me that mel ? Have your really not noticed that you are already in your room digging for the dress ladys number that Luna left for you a week ago ?" I hate it when you're right. I rolled my eyes and laid on my bed. I just need to sleep this off. I'll be fine after that right ? I left my eyelids fall and fell into a wonderful slumber...
