Chapter nine - Spending the day with the babysitter

2464 Words
Ryder's POV: Lily is staying at home the whole weekend. This will be fun. I can use this as a chance to get close to her. All I need is to make her trust me. It won't be easy, but I hope that it will work. My plan is to be nice, something very hard for me. On second thought, maybe I shouldn't use her. Lily didn't do anything to me. Moreover, Mia and Lea love her. Let's see how this weekend will go.  When I was ready, I went downstairs. Something delicious smelled from the kitchen. I walked there and saw Lily making pancakes. I didn't know that she could cook. Well, I don't know many things about her.  - Good morning chef.  - To you mister Collins. Can I help you with something? - First, no last names, and second I didn't know that you could cook. It smells delicious.  - Thanks, you have never asked and have no last names.  - Do you need help? - I'm almost finished. You can sit. When I am done, I will go and wake up the girls.  - If you want, I can do it.  - I don't mind. If you really want it, go then.  I got up and went to my sisters' room. I won't lie that they sleep cute. I sat on the bed and carefully started shaking Lea. Soon she opened her eyes.  - It's breakfast time. Lily is making pancakes. Go get dressed and I will wake up Mia.  I woke up Mia and both with Lea went to the bathroom. One thing, which you should know about them, is that they always do everything together. From the start until the end of the day.  - It wasn't that hard, was it? I turned around and saw Lily smiling at me. From how long is she here? - I only wake them up, nothing else.  - That's what I mean. Why can't you do it every time? Your sisters don't need much care. Only to watch them in case that something happens. Maybe to play with them as well.  - Yes and that's why you are here. I don't have that much free time.  - If you were going outside less.  - So now it's my fault.  - All I am saying is that if you were taking care of them, I wouldn't be here.  - But in that case, I was never going to meet you and talk with you. - I winked her, which made her chuckle - Breakfast is ready. When the girls are done, you can come downstairs.  With that, Lily left. I won't lie that it was kind of nice to wake the little ones, but this doesn't mean that I am a good babysitter. I won't take that much care of them as Lily. That's why mom left her here.  The girls and I walked downstairs.  - Pancakes! - both of them said in sync - Who wants chocolate? - Lily asked - Me! - Lea said All of us ate breakfast peacefully. I was planning to go out with the boys, but maybe I will cancel it. I don't know why, but I want to get to know Lily. She never talks and almost all the time is quiet. I won't make her tell me her secrets. I want to know who the real Lily is.  - Well girls, what is the plan for today? Any ideas? - Since you are asking, that means that you have something in mind. - Lily said - I was thinking... how about after lunch we don't go out for ice cream. Then we can go to the park.  - Wait a minute! How like that we? - I want to come with you. Don't you want me? - No, I mean yes. Just it's surprising that you want to spend time with your sisters.  - I like his plan. Lily, can we go for ice cream? Please. - Lea asked - Sure. We can do whatever you two want.  - Yay! - both of them said in sync - After breakfast, you can go and play.  When all of us finished, the girls went into their room and Lily left to wash the dishes. I wanted to help her, but this will be too much. I don't want her to think that I do it only to get something from her. Not like it's not true, but she doesn't need to know it. That was my first intention. Now all I want is to spend some time with her. Lily is not as bad as I thought.  Lily turned around and looked surprised to see me still here.  - Lily, are you ok? - What? Yes, I am just surprised to see you here. I thought that you have plans for the day.  - I was going to go out with the boys, but I do this all the time. Maybe this weekend I can do something different.  - You can do whatever you want.  - Do you want to watch a movie with me? I won't do anything. It'll be just a movie.  - Only if we are watching it in the living room. I still don't trust you completely.  - Whatever you say.  Both of us went into the living room. I played the movie and sat next to her. She didn't move, which is good. Somehow, I'll try to make her feel comfortable. Lily needs to relax a little bit. I don't bite. I was going to wrap my hand around her but didn't do it. Instead, I asked her something.  - Lily, can I ask you something? - Sure. What do you want to know? - Do you have trust issues? Lily looked at me. I know that this is personal, but I want to know. I feel like she is scared to trust me. Maybe it's only me, but that's what it looks like.  - Why do you want to know? - Because you still don't trust me and never let people close to you.  - And this means that I have trust issues? - That's what it looks like.  - Look, I don't want to talk about this.  - I understand, but I don't want you to stay away from me.  - I am not staying away from you.  - But you don't like being around me.  Lily didn't answer. I won't lie this is hurting me a little. Usually, I don't let what girls talk about me get me, but somehow this time I did it. I want to make her trust me, but I don't know how. I hope that this afternoon I can change her mind. It's important for me. I only want us to be friends. She is not the type of girl for which I am looking for. Moreover, I can't be with only one girl.  Later Lily made lunch. It was simple but delicious. After that, I went for a shower. When I was done, I walked downstairs. No one was there. I looked at the backyard and saw Lily sitting alone. I heard only one sob, but it was enough for me to understand that she was crying again. I don't know is it because of me, but I don't like seeing her sad. Usually, I don't care about girls' feelings at all, but somehow I do it for her.  - Lily, are you ok? - I asked and sat next to her She quickly wiped her tears. You can't lie to me. I know what I saw.  - I am fine. You don't have to worry about me.  - But what if I want to worry.  With that, she looked at me. I return with a smile. I don't know what is going on with me. I am not the type of person who will show care for someone. I feel like something bad has happened to her. Maybe before she came here to work.  I kept looking at her and saw how she tried to hold on to the tears.  - Do you want a hug? Lily didn't say anything and just nodded her head down. Without any talking, I pulled her close and gave her a hug. I felt how she slightly broke down. The silent crying. I hate to see her like that. I want to help her, but I don't know how. If she tells me the reason why she is crying, it will be easier. I don't want to pressure her. When Lily feels ready, she will tell me everything.  I lifted her chin and carefully wiped her tears. She quickly pulled away.  - Do you feel better? - Yeah...um... I'm sorry.  - It's ok. I want you to know that I am here to listen to you if you need a talk.  - Thanks.  I was about to say something, but Mia and Lea came. I guess that they have woken up by themselves.  - We are ready for ice cream. - both of them said in sync - Ok, let's go then. Lily are you ready? - Yes, I just will go to take something from my room.  After ten minutes Lily came back and all of us walked out. We went to the nearest ice cream shop. Mia and Lea wanted chocolate ice cream, Lily vanilla and I mint with some chocolate chips. Lily was about to pay for hers, but I stopped her. I might be a player, but I won't let a girl pay for whatever it is. I paid for everything and we walked out.  - Here you go girls. Chocolate for the little ones and vanilla for the babysitter. - I said, winking at Lily, which made her chuckle - Do you want us to go to one park to eat it? - Lily asked - Yes! Then we can play. Will you let us? - Lea said looking at Lily - Of course that I will. Let's go now.  We walked for not more than ten minutes when we arrived at one park. Lily and I sat on one bench and the girls between us. They were fighting who will sit next to Lily. I decide to not enter fight. Mia and Lea finished with their ice creams and went to play. Lily was eating hers without saying a single word.  - Do you feel better now? In the movies, girls eat ice cream while they are crying over their relationships.  - You watch girly movies?  - I don't, but once I heard two girls talking about that.  - For one moment, I got scared. - she chuckled - At least it worked.  - Worked what? - I wanted to make you smile and it worked.  With that, I saw how her cheeks turn into light pink. I guess that she isn't used to people making her compliments. It was not like this was one. She returned with a smile. I looked into her dark brown eyes and was left speechless. Lily might do and say many things, but her eyes always will say the truth. All I saw was a fake smile and pain. Someone has hurt her and it was very deep. Maybe this was the reason why she was crying. Now I feel sorry for her. Even the girls who I dump don't have that much pain.  - Lily, did someone hurt you? - What? Why are you asking? - Because I saw it in your eyes. Your smile was fake and when I looked at you, I saw pain. Did someone do something to you? Maybe me? Lily didn't say anything and nodded her head down. I guess that it's true. The question is who did it and why. I don't think that she has done something to someone. I mean all she has are her parents. Maybe they did it. Since she doesn't have friends, the only ones who are left are her parents.  - Did your parents do something? With that, she looked at me. I find her weak spot.  - No, they didn't. Look, I don't feel comfortable talking about this. Can't we talk about something else? Please.  - Sure, no problem.  After an hour we walked home. Lily went to make dinner. I wanted to help her and this time she left me. I want to know did her parents really did anything to her. I only mentioned them and she gave me a look. Maybe it's better if I wait. I see that Lily doesn’t like to talk about this so I won't insist.  At 10:00 pm, Lily put Mia and Lea in their bed. It was early for us to sleep so I suggested her a movie. I went to change into my PJs. I was about to put the top on when I heard a knock on the door. It was Lily.  - Hey, your phone was... I'm sorry.  - Don't worry, you can come in. What were you saying? - Your phone was ringing. It was Alex.  - I will call him later or send him a message. Can we watch the movie here? I am too lazy to go back downstairs.  - Sure, as long as you behave.  - I won't do anything, I promise you.  - Ok, then. Do you want any food for the movie? - No, the dinner was enough for me.  I sat on the bed next to her and she looked at me. - What? - Can you put something on top? Please.  - Oh, sorry. I forgot.  - Yeah, sure. - she chuckled I really forgot. I guess that this is her first time seeing a half-n***d boy. When I was done, I sat next to her again. I looked at her and she returned with a smile.  During the middle of the movie, Lily snuggled in me. I guess that she didn't realize it. Soon she fall asleep. Since she was in her PJ as well, I decided to leave her to sleep here. I know that she probably won't like it when she wakes up.  I have to say that it wasn't a bad day. I kind of get to know Lily. As I said she isn't that bad, but just needs someone with who she can trust and share her problems. Maybe I won't be this person, but I hope that one day she will find him. Lily deserves to be happy like every other person. I still think that her parents did something to her. I hope that I am wrong because otherwise, this will be horrible. I am a bad boy, but somehow my parents still love me. I guess that I am blessed.
