COLLISION COURSE đ
"Love in the Hallways":
Episode 1: Collision Course
Elowyn Wilson rushed down the crowded hallway, her eyes fixed on the clock ticking away above the lockers. She was already running late for her first-period English class, and she couldn't afford to miss another day. Her mind was preoccupied with the looming deadline for her college applications and the constant pressure from her parents to excel.
As she turned a corner, she collided with a tall, broad-shouldered figure. Books and papers went flying in all directions, and Elowyn's heart sank. She knew she was in trouble. Her glasses slipped down her nose, and she pushed them back up, feeling a familiar sense of anxiety wash over her.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed, bending down to gather her scattered belongings. Her long, curly brown hair fell around her like a curtain, and she brushed it back, revealing a smattering of light freckles across her cheeks.
The stranger, a boy with piercing blue eyes and a charming smile, joined her on the floor. "It's okay, I'm fine. Just a little clumsy, I guess," he said, handing her a stray book. His eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled, and Elowyn felt a spark of electricity run through her body.
Their hands touched, and Elowyn felt a jolt of surprise. She quickly pulled away, her cheeks flushing. She couldn't believe she was reacting this way to a simple touch.
As they stood up, Elowyn took in the boy's athletic build and popular-jock aura. She knew exactly who he was â Calvin Taylor, the star quarterback and most eligible bachelor in school. His short, dark hair was perfectly messy, and his broad shoulders seemed to stretch on forever.
"Thanks for helping me," Elowyn said, trying to sound casual despite her racing heart. She fumbled with her bag, trying to stuff her books back inside.
"No problem, Elowyn," Calvin replied, his eyes never leaving hers. "I'm Calvin."
Elowyn's heart skipped a beat. How did he know her name? She was just a shy, introverted bookworm, not exactly the type to catch the attention of the school's golden boy.
The bell rang, signaling the start of class. Elowyn grabbed her bag and turned to leave, but Calvin caught her arm. His touch sent shivers down her spine.
"Hey, wait up. Can I walk with you to class?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.
Elowyn hesitated, unsure if she wanted to be seen with the most popular guy in school. What would her friends think? But Calvin's warm smile put her at ease, and she nodded.
As they walked together, Elowyn couldn't help but notice the way Calvin's eyes sparkled when he talked about football, or the way his hair curled slightly at the nape of his neck. She felt a flutter in her chest, and her mind went blank. What was happening to her?
They reached the classroom door, and Calvin held it open for her. "After you," he said, his eyes crinkling again.
Elowyn's heart skipped another beat. No one had ever held a door open for her before.
As they took their seats, Elowyn couldn't shake off the feeling that her life was about to change in ways she never expected.
The teacher, Mrs. Johnson, began the lesson, but Elowyn's mind wandered back to Calvin. She couldn't believe she was sitting next to him, let alone that he was talking to her.
At the end of the period, Calvin turned to her and smiled. "Hey, want to grab lunch together today?"
Elowyn's heart skipped a beat. Was he asking her out?
"I-I don't know," she stuttered, feeling her face heat up.
Calvin chuckled. "Come on, it'll be fun. I promise I won't bite."
Elowyn hesitated, unsure of what to do. But something about Calvin's warm smile put her at ease.
"Okay," she said finally, trying to sound casual.
Calvin grinned. "Great. Meet me at the cafeteria at 12:30?"
Elowyn nodded, feeling a sense of excitement wash over her.
As they parted ways, Elowyn couldn't help but wonder what she had just gotten herself into.
