Eliza's POV
I knew the moment something went wrong. Seraphina was on edge the entire time since Reed walked into the building but there was a moment when her body froze and had to check to see if she was breathing.
"Something's wrong" she whispers and she starts walking towards the window we were positioned under to breach from the back side of the building. Alexis looks over at me and we both nod together as we move to Seraphina's sides and boost her up to climb the ledge of the window. She pulls out a blade and pries the lock open before turning to offer me a hand to follow her inside. I repeat the move to help in Alexis and we make our way through the unlit corridor until we suddenly hear a loud crash in the distance.
