Chapter 12

1008 Words
"Willow!" Mr Jeffries calls. Maths was always a boring subject and I often lost concentration. Come to think of it - I lost concentration a lot recently. Daydreaming about Grey. Though I was quite good at maths, it could get a little... dull. Especially with Mr Jeffries. He was an older teacher with a messy white beard that was stained yellow from smoking cigarettes all his life. He wore clothes that look like they haven't actually fit him properly in about ten years and I'm pretty sure he checked out of teaching about seven or eight years ago. I sat next to a human. Her long blond hair was tightly slicked back in a half up - half down hair style, her brown eyes and dark complexion made her stand out for a human. She was a quiet girl we only ever spoke when saying hello or goodbye. I sat thinking about Grey the whole lesson and watching the clock tick by. Mr Jeffries blabbed on about quadratics while sitting behind his desk and pointing out examples in the text book. *Ring* Finally! The end of maths. I quickly pack up my things and said goodbye to the girl who sat next to me. I walked out into the hall weaving through groups of rushing teenagers trying to get to their lockers. As I made my way through the clusters of students, someone caught my eye. My heart started to pound at the thought of it possibly being Grey. I couldn't smell his strong scent but it didn't stop me from wishing. When the guy turned, I was disappointed to see that he was definitely not Grey. Now that Grey and I had discovered that we were mates, no one lived up to my standards except for him. I hadn't seen him in a few days (not since our moment behind the sports shed) and I had become worried. Why wasn't he at school? Was he avoiding me? Did I say or do something wrong? The day went on uneventfully, until the last lesson. Where I went to the bathroom. I was about to unlock the cubicle door when I heard a girl come in followed by another shortly after. "Well. Well. Well, what do we have here?" One of the girls interrogates, her voice sounded so familiar. "Hey, Juliet." The other girl muffled. Shit. Juliet. I had to stay in the cubicle. I quickly but quietly moved to the back of the cubicle so that my feet were not showing underneath the door. I had been trying to avoid her completely and so far it had worked. I just had to wait for her to finish attacking this poor girl. Shay begins to get frustrated that Juliet does this to other girls too. Why was she like this? As much as I wanted to help, I knew it would just end up in my humiliation again. "How's it going mutt number two? " Juliet teases. I sit thinking who is mutt number 2? I hadn't really caught a clear sentence from her to tell. It had to be someone else that pissed her off. "Speechless are we? Well, here is an easy question.... What is Willow doing hanging around Grey?" Juliet asks as her voice grows louder. I gulp. I really need to make myself invisible now. "What do you mean?" The girl asks sweetly. I suddenly recognized the voice - Aria's. I wasn't sure if i should barge out there to assist her or see how it unfolds. Let's be honest, I would be as much help as Bambi on Ice and Aria definitely can stand her ground. Aria continues, "They were just partnered together. Why do you care anyway, Juliet?" she says sternly. Aria seemed to be holding her ground quite well. Maybe I'll just wait a little longer until she really needs me. Might be a cop out but hey, Aria thrives in confrontations. Its a reward for her really! "Dont lie to me!" Juliet yells at Aria, shortly followed by a bang. I sounded like a hand slapping the metal paper towel dispenser. "Why do you care, Juliet? Are you worried that Grey might actually like her?" Aria mocks. "How dare you!" Juliet screams. I imagined the steam coming out of her ears like a cartoon character. "That mutt and my Grey? Ha, never!" Juliet adds. "Your Grey? Last time I checked, you and Grey were nothing but two members of the same pack. Or am I wrong?" Aria continues to question Juliet. "Grey will be my mate, just you wait and see. He will choose me to be Luna of Goliath Pack. I would be perfect and he knows it. Its inevitable." Juliet sternly tells Aria before storming out of the bathroom. I hear the door slam behind her. "Haha" I hear Aria laugh. "Pathetic." She continues. "It's clear Willow." She calls out. She knew I was here the whole time? "Go Aria!" I cheer excitedly from my bathroom stall. Aria chuckles. I open the door and go to meet her. She has a smile from one ear to the other as she looks at me. "How did you know I was here? I tried to be real inconspicuous!" I ask confused. "Inconspicuous is not a word I would use to describe you..." Aria jokes. "I saw you walk in a few minutes ago and could see your bag hanging below the door." She continued to explain. "Ah... right." I sulk. Honestly, I thought I had nailed it. "Poor little Juliet. Can't stand the thought of Grey not being her mate." Aria mocks. Hold on, did Juliet just admit to wanting Grey to be her mate? I begin to worry. Does Grey already know this or is he oblivious of the fact that the perfect girl in his pack is already head-over-heels, totally obsessed with him? I shouldn't even worry considering nothing can ever happen between us, but I can't help the direction my thoughts go sometimes. Particularly when Shay had control.
