Chapter 33
Dru
The days trickled on and things fell silent again. Dru could tell everyone was anxious to go back to their own lives, but he wasn’t ready to take the risk. Whoever was pulling the strings was lying in wait. They had an end game in mind and Dru had a feeling the finish line was in sight. He hated feeling unprepared or like he was going to be caught off guard. The not knowing was driving him and everyone else crazy.
“Hey, Sean’s here,” Rocky said from behind Dru’s closed office door.
Sean had never showed up the other day when he said he was going too. He said he had a few more leads he wanted to run down first. Dru was anxious to see where he had ended up with Lizzie’s case. If nothing else, it was nice to have a break from his constant inner monologue.
