“They’re releasing her into your custody?” Annie asked again.
“Yes. We work very closely with the Wheeling Police Department. They trust me to keep my word that she’ll appear at all of her court dates, and not do or be near any drugs.”
“The last part definitely won’t be a problem. Tayler wasn’t one to do drugs prior to being taken.”
“She said she used since being taken, though.”
“I know, but that was just circumstances. Now that she’s free, she’ll be clean.”
“Drugs change people, Annie. Just because Tayler says she never touched drugs before, she’s been using for about a decade now.”
Annie shook her head. She had faith in her friend; that being reunited with her husband and knowing her parents were safe would be all Tayler would need to stay clean.
