Jenny angrily said, "Ethan, what are you talking about? Have you even seen such an expensive watch a few times? Do you dare to act like an expert in this appraisal?"

Jenny was a woman who cared deeply about her social status, so she placed great importance on her image. She had just misunderstood Ethan’s watch as a cheap knockoff and even suspected that he had stolen it. However, the store confirmed that Ethan had indeed purchased it himself, which ultimately became a slap in her face.

Jenny originally intended to use the meal at Westno Hotel to showcase her status and superiority, but she didn't realize that Westno Hotel was actually owned by Sarah’s boyfriend. Everything felt like an overwhelming series of coincidences to her, as if that day was simply an unlucky one.

Initially, Sophia had planned to take Ethan away, and the issue could have ended there. However, Ethan's words once again ignited Jenny’s anger.

A useless son-in-law who barely left the house and even relied on his wife for pocket money—how dare he suspect that the watch of the vice president of a renowned company was a fake? Where did he get such audacity?

It was like a beggar doubting that a nobleman's gold bar was real.

Jenny sneered and said, "Bobby’s watch is a high-end limited edition piece that he bought for hundreds of thousands of dollars. One of his watches is worth ten of the ones you bought. And you still dare to question whether his watch is fake? Ethan, just because you can't afford something doesn’t mean you can accuse others of owning counterfeits!"

"Open your eyes wide and take a good look. Is that BMW fake? Bobby is dressed in international luxury brands from head to toe. You probably haven't even heard of those brands, have you? I don't know where you get your confidence to talk so recklessly like this."

Bobby touched his watch, lifted his chin, and looked at Ethan with pride. "Jenny, don’t waste your breath on him. He doesn’t even have a job and knows nothing about luxury goods. That watch he bought might be the only luxury item he’ll ever own in his life."

Ethan was about to speak, but Sophia gently tugged at his arm, signaling him not to continue.

"Jenny, Bobby, please forgive Ethan. Maybe he just misunderstood. Please let it go this time. I apologize on his behalf."

Seeing Sophia apologize, Jenny arrogantly waved her hand. "Fine, for Sophia’s sake, I won’t make a fuss over it."

Bobby snorted, took Jenny’s hand, and walked toward their BMW. "Jenny, stay away from people like that in the future. He’s the kind of person who’s just jealous of others’ success."

After they both got into the car, Bobby stepped on the gas pedal forcefully, as if deliberately showing off. The BMW’s engine hummed before speeding away.

Sophia let out a sigh of relief, then turned to comfort Ethan. "Honey, Jenny’s words were harsh. Don’t take them to heart, okay?"

"Don’t worry, I won’t," Ethan replied calmly. He didn’t care about two ignorant fools. He had called Bobby’s watch a fake for a reason.

While living with the Callahan family, Ethan had never bought, used, or even seen luxury goods, but precisely because of that, he had developed a sharp intuition for distinguishing real from fake.

Sophia frowned and said, "But you shouldn’t have said that. I know Jenny wrongly accused you, but you can’t just accuse her boyfriend in return."

"Jenny and I are colleagues and good friends. If you make her angry, how am I supposed to maintain my relationship with her in the future?"

Ethan didn’t want to argue about it any further. He smiled and said, "Okay, I was wrong, my dear wife. Don’t be mad, okay?"

Sophia looked at Ethan seriously, but she wouldn’t truly be angry over something so trivial.

"By the way, be honest with me. Where did you get the money to buy this watch?" Sophia asked.

Ethan had already prepared his answer.

"The money came from the lottery. Every day when I go shopping, I pass by a lottery store. I spent ten yuan on a ticket each time. I’ve been buying lottery tickets for three years straight. And finally, I won!"

"You won a few days ago? Why didn’t you tell me?"

"Uh… the prize was only disbursed today. That’s why I immediately bought you this watch. Do you like it? Try it on and see how it feels," Ethan said.

Ethan smiled as Sophia opened the watch box and looked inside. Her face instantly lit up with joy.

"Honey, how much did you win from the lottery? Do you still have some left?"

"There’s still a little left, but not much. The total was 1 million dollars."

Ethan lied about the actual prize amount to prevent Sophia from checking his account.

After all, he didn’t even have a domestic bank card. He only had a Swiss bank account and a Black Gold Card.
