"Huh, Sophia, why are you home so early today?" her mother asked.
"Well, I'm feeling a bit unwell. I came home to rest. I won’t be going back to work this afternoon."
Sophia hurried toward her bedroom while Ethan stepped out of the kitchen, only able to watch her from behind.
Normally, Sophia never came home during the day. She always had lunch near her office and returned to work after a short break.
Ethan was curious about what was wrong with Sophia, but when he tried to approach her room, he found the door locked.
"Sophia, what's wrong? Do you need me to get you some medicine?" Ethan asked.
"No, I just want to lie down for a bit. Don’t call me for lunch, I’m not hungry today."
Ethan frowned, sensing that something was off. He heard Sophia's voice trembling slightly, as if she was holding back tears.
Ethan walked into the living room and said to Sonia, "Mom, please cook lunch today. I need to go out for a bit."
Sonia shouted in displeasure, "Hey! If you're not cooking, where are you going?"
Ethan didn’t answer. He immediately took a taxi to Amanah Real Estate Sales Center. He suspected something had happened to Sophia at work, so he went to find out.
As soon as he entered, he saw several female sales agents having lunch, including Jenny.
"Ethan? What are you doing here?" Jenny asked with an annoyed expression.
Ethan didn’t care and said, "I need to ask you something. Can we talk outside for a moment?"
Jenny glanced at her colleagues before putting down her chopsticks and walking outside with Ethan.
Before Ethan could even speak, Jenny said, "You're here because of Sophia, aren't you?"
Ethan frowned and asked, "Sophia came home early today in a bad mood. Did something happen to her at work?"
Jenny smirked and looked at Ethan with disdain. "Let me tell you something— even if there was a problem, what could you possibly do? The person who troubled Sophia was Joda Lac, our sales center manager, the son of the CEO of Amanah Real Estate Group."
"His father, Harry Lac, is a major real estate tycoon. Do you think you can go up against them?" Jenny added.
Ethan’s expression turned cold. "What happened to Sophia?"
Jenny shrugged. "I don’t know the details. Joda called Sophia into his office. Not long after, she came out crying, and her clothes were a bit disheveled. Maybe they had an argument."
Ethan’s eyes burned with rage. He could already guess what had happened.
"Harry Lac? Where is he now?" Ethan asked.
"After Sophia left, he also left," Jenny replied casually.
Jenny then sneered and said, "Ethan, I'm not trying to look down on you, but you and Harry Lac are worlds apart. You won’t be able to do anything to him."
"Honestly, if you divorced Sophia, Joda Lac might actually marry her. If that happens, Sophia would become the young mistress of Amanah Real Estate Group. She’d live in luxury, far better than staying with you."
Ethan had no interest in listening to Jenny any longer. He turned and immediately took a taxi to the headquarters of Amanah Real Estate Group.
Upon arrival, Ethan coldly asked the receptionist, "Is Harry Lac here?"
The receptionist glanced at Ethan from head to toe, noticing his plain clothing, and immediately showed a look of disdain. "Who are you? What business do you have with our CEO? He’s not in the office right now."
Ethan asked again firmly, "Where is he now? Tell him I want to see him."
The receptionist scoffed. "Do you think just anyone can meet our CEO?"
Ethan didn’t bother arguing. He took out his phone and made a call.
Shortly after, the call connected. "Hello, this is Ethan."
"Mr. Ethan? How can I assist you?" The voice on the other end sounded respectful.
"Within thirty minutes, do whatever it takes to make sure Harry Lac from Amanah Real Estate Group meets me. I’ll be waiting in front of his office."

At that moment, Harry was entertaining an important guest at the Longh Hotel. However, he suddenly received a call from Dony, the head of the city’s Housing Management Bureau, instructing him to return to his office immediately.
Dony told him that someone very important was waiting to see him.
When Harry asked who it was, Dony simply said the order came from someone above him.
Realizing this was no trivial matter, Harry immediately left his guest and rushed back to his office.
Upon arriving at the company, he saw a man dressed in simple clothing standing at the entrance. At first, he assumed the man was just another job seeker...
