Welcome to the Exploration Team, Taol Vasterburn. By possessing this journal and admitting yourself into the team, you agree to document all the dangers and all that is unexplored in the Continent of Flos, with all that lies beyond it. You will find mysteries - dangers beyond explanation, dangers without comprehension. Rest is uncommon. Such is the way of an explorer, an adventurer. You will traverse through mountains, oceans, and potentially even geological oddities that may well be…foreign by normal means.
Whatever you may find, you must document in this very journal. If you ever run out of pages, you need not worry – traces of the Exploration team can be found anywhere and everywhere in the world of Nent. Show your finished journal, and you will be granted another volume to write more of your travels. Perhaps if you manage to explore all there is to find in Nent, you may get more than what you may expect. Explorers will always be rewarded for their exploring.
However, you must remember to always be prepared – explorers do not last long when they are not well-geared both physically and mentally. You will have to make a long journey of your own so that you can come out on top – to be better than any other explorer in all of Nent. Explorers are best known alive, so that they will always be immortalized in death. Explorers who has met death is one who will be lost to the sands of time, forgotten by all for eternity.
There will be risks and rewards to being an explorer, and sometimes, the only reward you will receive for taking huge risks may only be the reward of knowledge or documentation – but you are no treasure hoarder, after all. You are an explorer.
We strive to become what history demands us to be – messengers of knowledge. Protectors of the world in both past, present, and future. You must stop at nothing to create a library of knowledge, so that we may rest easy knowing that future generations of Nent can live from our writings and tabulations.
Go forth, Explorer. Your journey as an adventurer begins here. Your old stories must end here, so that a new one can rise in your own desired, developing image. The wheels of fate may shift against your favor, but you must learn to fight through it, and only then will you reap the ultimate reward of an explorer.
