The week dragged on like a workhorse pulling a plough through deep, thick mud; slow and uneventful. Each morning I woke to the birds singing, and each morning, it got harder to pull myself out from under my duvet. My dreams were disturbing, and Cade's face haunted me whether my eyes be open or closed. My appetite was fading fast, and enthusiasm for things that used to bring me joy, no longer did.
