The four people reached the mansion on the beach, a big modern house with huge windows to let the sunlight in. The garden had all kinds of exotic looking plants, huge pink ones and tiny orange flowers, name the colour and it was there. But it wasn’t the sight of the big house with the lovely garden that held the crown princes’ and the first commanders’ attention. It was the sea, stretching as far as the horizon. You could see the silhouettes of some boats leisurely sailing through the water as the sun was about to go under, turning the sky into a beautiful hue of orange, mixed with purple and pink. The sunlight was bouncing off from the water, making it look like tiny crystals. It was a sight that they had never seen. They didn’t have sunsets like these on their own planet. Their sky would turn slowly green and then to the midnight black, no colours as bright as on this planet. It was mesmerizing, making them wonder what other secrets this planet was hiding. Caelyn opened the door, coughing to get the attention of the two Inzieans, and widened it to let the others in. Kairos was the last to go through, his eyes lingering on the queen a bit longer than necessary, analysing her. He wondered what went through her head. He was sure there was a reason why she had chosen this house. The beach had a calming effect as you could easily hear the waves splashing against the rocks that the house was standing on. Did she feel stressed, knowing that for the first time she had to act like a queen, making the right decisions for her people. He knew that she delegated her work. She had many advisors that helped her, making sure that they only needed her when the time called for it, which was until now never. Caelyn could feel her cheeks redden a bit at his gaze, turning them into a soft pink. She had to admit that he was handsome, his pale blue eyes reminded her of a frozen lake and every time she saw them, it reminded her at her love for ice-skating. And not to mention his hair, it was light brown, with here and there some strands that were a little lighter and it came just over his ears. He didn’t have his hair styled, making it look like he pulled his hands a couple of times through it, which he probably had done. ‘We will talk tomorrow,’ the queen said to the guests as she headed towards the stairs, ‘I will show you your rooms as we are all probably tired.’ The queen didn’t feel in the right mind to be talking about politics, and she could only hope that she felt better tomorrow. Kairos and Slaton followed her on the stairs, glancing around them as they haven’t seen a house in ages. Their rooms were only a box containing a bed and a small closet for their clothes. They ate all together in one room and the bathrooms were all shared. They did not have any luxury, at least not the ones the queen was living in. He had to admit that he felt slightly jealous, but he also knew that soon they would have these luxuries too. The crown prince could already feel hope blossom in his chest. He was lucky to have met with a fair leader, one who was kind. This would mean that his people finally had the chance to enjoy the sunlight, to enjoy the nature changing with every season. Even Slaton could not believe his eyes as he looked around the house. There were paintings everywhere, some of the nature and some from animals he had never seen before. He still didn’t trust the queen completely, but that was in his nature. He never trusted easily, one of the reasons he was the first in command. He had to make sure that the future king would not make the mistake of trusting someone that shouldn’t be trusted in the first place. It was his job to advise him. ‘This will be your room, Kairos,’ Caelyn said and once again the eyes of the prince lingered on her, but this time on her lips as she pronounced his name. Kairos could not explain the warm, fuzzy feeling in his chest. It was a feeling he had never felt before, not with any woman. She awoke his behemoth, something that only a potential mela could do. This confused him a little as it was rare to find a mela in their own species, but to find one in another species was unheard of. Slaton looked at his prince, noticing the black scales that appeared in his neck. It was faint, but it was there, showing that his behemoth was curious of the girl in front of him. The first commander felt a little relieved at this. If the crown prince would finally mate, they could crown him king, something that his people needed after all these years. He only hoped that the queen would accept him. She still had a lot to learn about their kind and he was sure some things would scare her. Like how we all have beasts inside of us, but only the pure-blooded, the royals, could shift. Kairos nodded at her and walked inside his temporary room. The first thing he noticed were the big windows, illuminating the big room. He had a beautiful view of the ocean, the night sky where stars twinkled and the two moons that shone down on the ocean, making the water glisten. He immediately fell in love with it. As he could feel the tiredness seeping in his bone, the prince decided this would be a good moment to get some rest. He knew that tomorrow would a big day. They had to talk about how their culture worked and why they were here, asking her for permission to live on their planet and not to forget, he had to ask her if he could court her. To say he was scared was an understatement. Fear flickered inside his chest like a small flame that could turn into a wildfire at any moment. As the crown prince made himself at home, the queen showed the first in command his room. It was close to Kairos’ room as she knew he would be a bit more at ease, knowing he is within hand reach of Kairos. Slaton thanked her, giving her one last look before he went inside, assuring himself that she was a person worthy of his trust, especially now that the behemoth of the future king had shown up. The queen sighed in content as she closed the door to her room. They were both in their rooms, allowing her to breathe a little better. The crown prince made her nervous, but more in a good kind of way. Every time she looked at him, she couldn’t help but feel like she had butterflies living inside of her stomach. She wanted to act like those girls who had a crush on a boy, giggling the whole time, but she couldn’t. She had to act mature in front of them, and not like a girl with a crush, or she might ruin their chance of learning from one and another. The queen shook those thoughts away, already getting fed up by her duties. In truth, she just wanted to be a normal girl, living her life not in fear of getting killed at any moment. This didn’t mean that she hated being a queen, she just wished it was simpler. To her luck she didn’t have any duties until now, giving her the time to grow and discover what she likes and what not. She sighed out and walked over to her bathroom, wanting to wash all the today’s events away. She was still wearing her bloody clothes, making her cringe slightly as she pulled them off, the blood was plastered against her skin. She threw her clothes in the trash bin and went to the shower to turn it on. She happily stood under the hot water, enjoying the scolding heat burning her body. A sigh escaped her lips as she closed her eyes, thinking about the handsome alien prince. She couldn’t help but think of naughty scenes, him kissing his way down her body to her s*x, pleasuring her. She could already feel her arousal dripping down her legs, just by thinking of it. Her thoughts excited her and scared her at the same time. She didn’t have any experience with s*x. She didn’t even know what she liked, would see like it rough and hot or sweet and tender. She shook the thoughts away for now. It was of no use, anyway, they were two different species. The queen washed herself quickly, wanting to get into her bed as fast as possible. She wrapped a fluffy towel around her body and walked to her room, expecting no one to find in there, but to her surprise Kairos was sitting on the edge of her bed, his head inside his hand as he was leaning his elbows on his knees. ‘Prince Kairos,’ the queen said surprised, using his title to create some space between them. She hadn’t forgotten the wicked thoughts she had just moments ago. She clutched her towel to her body when he looked at her, his eyes devouring every inch of her body. She could feel core clench as she clenched her thighs. She shifted uncomfortably at his intense gaze, not knowing what to do. She felt flushed and hot, aroused by his stare, knowing by the look of hunger in his eyes he found her desirable, but on the other hand she felt slightly scared as she was inexperienced with these kinds of emotions. It did, however, surprise the queen she didn’t feel any fear towards the prince, like she knew he would not hurt her. ‘I beg your forgiveness for the intrusion,’ he apologised, knowing he crossed a line, a line he would cross again if it meant seeing her like this, her eyes glazing over with want, her soft thighs clenching as she tried to relieve herself. Kairos shook his head, flabbergasted at his wicked thoughts. Normally he wasn’t like this, but she made him want to think about how he would take her innocence, pleasuring her until she begged him to stop. These kinds of thoughts never crossed his mind as he didn’t feel any attraction to another woman, but he already knew she was different. His behemoth told him so. ‘Just next time, let me know,’ the queen said as she kept her gaze on the prince, the scent of her arousal driving the princes’ behemoth wild. ‘I will take my leave,’ Kairos said as he stood up, not meeting her gaze as he felt a bit embarrassed by his thoughts. He hadn’t even asked to court her and here he was, leaving her room. Caelyn felt like she could breathe again as he walked away, his intense stare gone. She was sure that if he stayed any longer, they may have indulged into the forbidden. She didn’t know how the culture of them worked, but at her planet you weren’t supposed to have s*x before you got married. It was a cultural thing the queen wanted to change as she thought having a good s****l chemistry was important in marriage as you could only marry one person and the only way to know that was to have s*x. ... Around five o’clock, Caelyn woke up to the sound of the wind blowing through her window she left open last night, wanting to have some fresh air as it was a bit musty in her room. Groaning softly, she climbed out of bed to close the window, regretting it as she could already feel that she won’t be able to fall asleep again. Her mind was wide awake, racing with thoughts about the upcoming meeting. With a sigh she looked outside, seeing it was a beautiful night. There was not a single cloud in the air. The temperature was nice too, not too cold that you had to wear a jacket and not too hot that it would drench you in sweat, just perfect. An idea popped in her head, already knowing that Rhael will give her a lecture about how immature she was, but right now, she didn’t care. She went to her wardrobe to get dressed into a pair of shorts and a loose-fitting shirt. After she was done getting dressed in her jogging outfit, she walked towards her door, opening it slightly to pop out her head, making sure she was the only one awake. When she was sure everyone was asleep, she walked downstairs, careful as not to make a noise, and grabbed her sneakers. Once she was outside, she let out a soft sigh of relief, glad that she didn’t encounter Rhael as she was sure as the day that follows the night, that he would be furious with her. She started walking to warm up her muscles and started jogging at a slow pace, enjoying the soft wind blowing through her hair which was pulled into a knot. She breathed in rhythmically as she run faster, relishing the burn in her legs as she forced them to go even faster. She always loved to force herself to go over her limits. The burn in her legs was a welcoming feeling as well as her heartbeat that was racing a mile per hour. It made her feel alive. Something she needed right now as she felt a bit suffocated. Her excitement of finding new life diminishing and her fear of failing her people only growing, scared that she would make the wrong choice and that it would end with the death of her people. She knew it was unreasonable to think like that as the crown prince had shown no ill-will. But she couldn’t help it, a small seed of doubt was planted in her chest, waiting to grow. While Caelyn kept on running, unaware of the sun climbing up, setting the sky ablaze with orange hues, the other people in the house awoke to the singing birds. A phenomenon that was astonishing to the future king and his first in command as they haven’t heard the chirping of birds in ages. A sound they would gladly awake to every morning. Rhael came out of his bed, stretching the sleep out of his limbs as he sighed out. He had slept peacefully, not once waking up, which was a bit unusual for him, but he didn’t complain. A decent sleep was always welcome. As Rhael scratched the back of his head, he decided it would be best to go downstairs, but not before he would get dressed into some proper attire. He had to be on his best at all times. When he came downstairs, he noticed it was unusually quiet, which was rare. The queen was known to be quite the morning bird, always cooking, sometimes even almost setting the house on fire as she was not a great cook. Rhael could feel it in his bones that the queen was up to something, he only didn’t know what. His question was soon to be answered when he noticed that her running shoes were gone. ‘Well, I’ll be damned!’ Rhael yelled, angry at her immature behaviour. The rebels almost killed her just yesterday, and now she is out running without a bodyguard. ‘What’s going on,’ Kairos asked as he eyed the fuming bodyguard, while walking down the stairs, wondering what the commotion was about. ‘That child went out running without a care about her own safety,’ he seethed through clenched teeth, not even bothering to use formalities. The crown prince raised his eyebrows at this, ‘do you have any idea when she will be back?’ He wanted to know this as today they would talk about why the Inzieans were just outside their atmosphere. It was of importance that this happened as fast as possible. His people were anxiously waiting in the mother ship and he didn’t want them to wait too long as riots could arise. His people were desperate to set foot on a planet. ‘I have no idea,’ he sighed out, his anger lessening a bit, ‘maybe an hour, maybe two.’ Kairos nodded, ‘I’m sure she has a reasonable explanation why she decided to run.’ She had too as she knew how important this was to her people too. The hours went by and the queen still hadn’t returned, aggravating the bodyguard as he became panicked. What if something had happened to her? Kairos, himself, got worried too with each second that passed. Even so much he had to take a cold shower to calm his behemoth who demanded that they would search for her. ‘Do you have any clue where she might have gone,’ the crown prince asked as he let his head drop in his hands, sighing out as he cursed the young queen for being so foolish. Rhael shook his head, ‘she has many places here that she loves to visit. It would be a pain in the ass if we have to go to them all.’ Both Rhael and Kairos felt hopeless as they thought further. ‘What if we just go out and look for her, she has to be somewhere. It is better than just sitting here,’ Kairos suggested, his voice sounding exhausted due to all the worrying. ‘It is better than nothing,’ Rhael muttered, agreeing with the alien prince. Rhael took his car keys and motioned for the prince to follow him. He was quick to start the car and drove away in search for the queen. They both looked around them, trying to catch wind of her bright red hair. After driving for over an hour aimlessly, they both knew it was futile. They would just have to wait until she returned home. Just as Rhael was about to turn around and drive them home, he stopped the car. ‘I know where she is,’ he said as his voice sounded relieved, ‘I completely forgot about the small bar in the outskirts of the city.’ Kairos sighed out at this, feeling glad that they may have found her. ‘Had she never told you about it?’ he asked as he thought it was strange that her bodyguard couldn’t remember it. Rhael hummed, ‘She only mentioned it a couple of times, telling me how she loved the atmosphere of the bar. She would often go there when it was closed to play the piano.’ Within an hour they arrived at the small bar. The outside appearance was a bit old, the wood showing slight discoloration here and there. The sign was hanging loosely, and some letters were scraped off, making it hard to read how the bar was called. But even if the bar looked old and abandoned, it looked homey and the prince could see that it was once a jubilant bar. A soft melody was heard coming from the bar as both men stepped out of the car, Rhael feeling his anger rile up at the thought of her sitting there while they have been worried sick and Kairos feeling relieved that she was at least safe. Rhael was about to open the door to the bar when his phone ringed. A curse left his mouth as he picked up the phone, ‘with Rhael Morrison.’ The crown prince couldn’t hear the other person, but by the facial expression of Rhael he knew something was wrong. ‘I’ll be there in an hour,’ he said as he hung up. ‘What’s going on?’ Kairos asked as soon as he hung up, impatient as he wanted to see Caelyn, to be sure she was all right. ‘Some trouble with the rebels. They are causing an uprising and they need my help,’ he explained fast, ‘I don’t want you to alert the queen.’ He was already walking towards the car when the future king stopped him. 'Take Slaton with you,' the prince told him, remembering what he just said, ‘wait, why can’t I tell her.’ he was genuinely confused about this. Wasn’t she supposed to be notified about this? ‘She only comes here when everything gets too much, and she needs to think.’ That was the only thing the crown prince needed to know, figuring out the reason why she stayed away from the house. He should have expected it. She was young and making peace with another species was stressful. One wrong move and you could have a war. He decided to assure her, telling her she had nothing to worry about and to try to keep her mind off Rhael as she will ask about him. Kairos opened the door, scrunching up his nose at the musty scent. He expected it to smell to alcohol and cigarettes, but instead it smelled like a house that was not cleaned in a while. He looked around him, in search for the girl that managed to worm into his mind, being the subject of his every thought. She was sitting on the piano bench, her fingers gliding over the piano keys with such precision only a master could play with. She looked stunning as she was playing a sad tune, each note piercing the princes’ heart as he felt her pain through her music. He was completely hypnotized by her, even so much he hadn’t noticed the other person inside the room.
