Chapter Four

The bumping of the plane makes my stomach turn as I think about the events of last night.  Luckily I haven’t eaten too much as I am sure it would have ended up all over poor Cara who was sitting next to me, looking completely unaffected as usual.  Her ivory skin glistening as the sun from the window made patterns across her arm.  Last night my father shared his escape plan.  He had told us that he had told the Alpha’s we were visiting my Aunt in another pack, he didn’t share with them which pack as they were too focused on us and our powers.  My Aunt, my father’s sister, is mated to the Gamma of the Blood Moon pack, this is the largest pack in the world and is situated in North America.  Reis and Leo were so self absorbed that they just assumed my fathers sister would be somewhere near where we were living in South Africa.  My Aunt's pack is situated in the more rural parts of Canada, near a smaller town known as Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia.  Although the weather can be ok in the summer (which is not long), it can be pretty cold in the winter.  Something Cara and I were definitely not used to.  My father told us to not look suspicious and only pack things that were important into one bag.  We had to keep up pretences and look like we were only going for a couple of days.  My aunt was expecting us and had gone shopping for warmer clothes for us already.  My dad and her had organised everything.  I was not too attached to things so just made sure to pack a couple of special things that were important to me like the photo I keep next to my bed of my family.  My father had explained that we were to drive to a private airfield that the pack did not know about - it was past pack territory and was used by my Aunts packs for special occasions.  A plane would be waiting there for us and would fly us to Canada.  When we arrive we would have to cut ties with our previous pack.  When we did this, Reis and Leo would realise what we have done and begin to search for us.  My Aunts Alpha had heard the story and knew about our situation and powers.  He readily agreed to protect us and ensure that no one, except our mates, would be able to have us.  My father Knew Alpha Richard and respected and trusted him.  We all go by my father, if he trusts someone, then we all do.  

I sat back in my seat hoping that the plane would calm down as well as my stomach.  My father explained that upon arrival my Aunt Casey would be there with her Mate James, we would be staying with them.  The Alpha would be coming by with his sons to ensure that our story is as it has been told to him and set up the date for when we could join his pack.  I realised as my father was speaking that he was giving up everything for us, his position and power.  We would be joining a pack where he would be nothing, just a regular wolf.  I looked at him, he looked at me, he knew what I was thinking.  “When your mother and I realised who the two of you were, I vowed to myself to keep you safe.  You two girls and your mother are everything to me, there is nothing I wouldn’t do for you.”  I could feel the tears starting to flow down my face..”Besides, I have worked hard, saved enough, now it's time I just be with your mom, retirement will suit me.”  My dad’s cheeky smile snuck onto his face as he gave my mom a little pat on the bottom.  Something passed between them that made my sister blush and turn away.  Both of them started chuckling.  My dad looked at my mom, Sarah, in such a loving way. I do hope that one day, my mate looks at me in the same way.  

“Maybe you two will be lucky enough to find your real mates in the next pack.” My mom was giggling.  I couldn’t stop blushing, the idea of finding a mate, and then having to mate??? I was not sure if I was ready for that.  

I was jerked out of my daydream when I heard the pilot asking us to get ready for landing.  The flight had been really long and bumpy, I was looking forward to reaching solid ground.  As my father had said, my Aunt Casey and Uncle James were waiting at the landing strip for us.  I was so excited, we hadn’t seen my aunt for a while and Cara and I really felt close to her.  She was quite a bit younger than my Dad, so her and Uncle James had younger kids, really cute twins, a boy called Tyler and a girl named Lucy, they were 8 years old and I must admit, as cute as they were, they were terrors as well.  Aunty Casey held out her arms as Cara and I ran straight into them.  She might look small but she was one powerful wolf.  My grandfather had been a Beta, so strong blood was flowing through her and my Dad’s veins.  She held us tight as if we would disappear.  I looked up at her beautiful face, her eyes and hair reflected mine.  My mom always used to joke that I could be her daughter.  

“You girls must be freezing, I understand you couldn’t pack any warm clothes.  Let’s Get you into the car, I have gone shopping for you both, you will find a whole new winter wardrobe in your bedrooms.” Cara and I looked up at her in shock. “That would have cost you a fortune!!!”.  “Don’t worry, I learned your dad’s credit card number off by heart!”  She gave us a wink and we all started to laugh.  My dad with his werewolf hearing heard everything and did not look impressed at all.
