AMARA
It’s time.
After a surprising series of events that happened yesterday, it was finally time to settle everything once and for all. Part of it was tough and part of it was timely, I had so much fun yesterday with Em teaching her everything there is to know about being a wolf and some duties to become a Luna, we’re both about to become Luna’s. Em being mated to my brother made me forget about the challenge just for a while but at the end of the day, the daunting feeling came back to me, and falling asleep last night was hard.
I was in my room, pondering about the fight, I had decided that I wanted to stay here. I didn’t want to watch nor anywhere be near the training grounds, I might not stand watching Kyle and Brian trying to kill each other and I could probably do something stupid.
“I have to stay here, I don’t want to look…” I said as I closed my eyes and buried my face into one of my pillows.
I pulled my head back up and sat on my bed, looked out my window, and started thinking. My heart, body, and soul definitely belonged to Kyle. He had my whole self and had become a necessity for me to keep going every day. I couldn’t imagine how empty and lifeless my life would be if Kyle wasn’t in it. My heart aches just thinking about it. I heavily sighed as I hugged one of my pillows really tight.
“Ame, you remember what I told you that you don’t need to worry about Kyle?” Taryn spoke.
“Yeah, why?”
“I’ll say it again, you don’t have to worry about a thing. I strongly believe what mother said about Kyle doing his all for us. He can do it, you need to believe in him.”
She right.
I honestly don’t know what I would do without Taryn. Not only she was my wolf counterpart, but she also tirelessly gives me advice that would help me in clearing my head and my decisions. She was the mature one from the both of us, being 18 and experiencing this kind of problem without someone to talk to would be difficult, I’m thankful to Goddess that I have Taryn in every step of my way for the rest of my life.
Kyle would be finally with me and we would get to spend the rest of our days together. He could finally mark me and claim me as his own and I to him. I wanted everything to begin and end with Kyle forever. My feelings for Brian didn’t compare to what I felt for Kyle, we were destined but we’re not meant for each other, even if that destroyed our friendship before, I still see him as a good person and a good friend. I know that in the near future, Goddess will eventually give him a second chance because everyone deserves that.
“Nikko… What are you doing now?” I mind linked my brother.
“I’m preparing for the challenge, I’m about to head out. Are you okay sis?”
“I’m doing fine, I just wanted to talk to you,” I tell him.
“Look sis, I honestly don’t know what would happen in this fight, and I can’t do anything about it since we cannot interfere with them.”
“I know…”
“I know that you want Kyle to be safe. Ame, what I do know is that he will do anything for you. He knows what he has to do, and all you have to do too is just to believe in him.” What my brother just said sounds like a replay of Taryn’s advice earlier.
I cut my mind-link off to Nikko when I suddenly heard a knock from my bedroom door. I quickly got up to unlock and answer it and as soon as I swung the door open a familiar scent hit me right in the face. There he was just standing in front of me heavily breathing while looking at me with yearning in his crystal blue eyes.
“Angel….” He immediately cupped my face and started kissing me passionately as I struggled to shut the door behind me and return his aggressive kisses. “I’ve missed you…”
“Kyle…” I call out his name as he continued to kiss me as his hands slowly ventured my body “I-I missed you too…”
He eventually let go of our kiss and just continued to cup my cheeks while closing his eyes, he had such long beautiful lashes.
“Angel... I’m sorry I came in here so suddenly, I just couldn’t bear to not see you again…” He leaned his forehead onto mine “it’s torture…”
“It’s alright love…” I wrapped my hands around his torso and held him in a tight embrace. Having to feel his touch and presence again made me feel like there are butterflies in my stomach. His scent is everything, the contact itself felt like electricity and I felt the sparks.
“I just wanted to see you and hold you one last time before the challenge...” He said as he stroked my head while placing his face at the crook of my neck making me shiver at his every breath.
“Come back to me okay?....” I tell him.
“I will, Angel I promise I’ll come back. I won’t let anyone have you but me…” He said as he placed me in another tight hug, I could hear his heart beating in his chest rapidly “let me spend just a few more minutes with you, just like this…” Him saying that, tears formed on my eyes and slowly fell.
Not long after he let go of our embrace and took a heavy sigh and looked at me once more.
“So beautiful…” He softly said as he planted a light kiss on my lips.
We stood there in comfortable silence as we inhaled each other’s scent. It was going to be another while when we get to do this again, I wish time would stop but it’s impossible. So, with every remaining minute that I have with him right now, I want to savor it until the end.
Not long after, I could see Kyle’s diamond eyes cloud over with grey, he was in a mind-link. This is it, he’s leaving.
“Angel… They’re-“
“Go…” I cut him off knowing what he would say.
He continued to look at me and I could see tears form in his eyes but he was trying to hold them back.
“After this fight, I’ll make sure I won’t ever leave you again…” he forcefully closed his eyes and once more breathed heavily.
“I’ll pray to Goddess for you, I believe in you. Please be safe love…” I tell him as I cup his cheek and gave a soft kiss on his lips.
He finally fixed himself up and slowly went to my bedroom door, but before he went out he took of his hoodie and wrapped it around me.
“A little something for you… I’ll come back to get it again okay?” He said as he once more hugged me tight and left my bedroom.

KYLE
“A little something for you… I’ll come back to get it again okay?” I said as I hugged her tightly before shutting the door behind me. I left her my hoodie just so she could feel at ease.
I felt a stray tear fall down my left cheek. Alpha’s were supposed to be the strongest, powerful and lethal but when it comes to Amara, I become the softest. Just thinking about the possibility that I might lose my mate today made my heart ache. As I walk downstairs, I kept thinking about the last words that Amara left me.
“I’ll pray to Goddess for you, I believe in you. Please be safe love…” Goddess I ask of you once more, help me and give Amara a better life if I ever don’t come out alive.

I went out to the training grounds where Pierce and Kean were waiting for me. When I got there, it looked like they just finished their stretching.
“Kean. Pierce.” I tell them as I went closer.
“Kyle, you ready for this?” Kean asked.
“I am, and what time is it?”
“Still a little around 8-ish.. why?” Kean asked as he c****d his head.
“There’s still plenty of time...” I told him as I removed my shirt, leaving only my basketball shorts.
I needed to have a little warm-up before the fight. I was battling against another Alpha for a mate and I knew Brian wouldn’t back down, just the same as I am. Both Kean and Pierce nodded their heads to each other and took off their own shirts as well. They started to circle around me.
“Ready when you are, Alpha,” Pierce stated forming his hands into fists.
Kean took the first move and charged at me with great speed and started to attack me with a series of punches which I gladly blocked here and there, although I took a few hits from before, I got hold of his fist and grabbed him by the neck and used my weight to pin him down to the ground.
Pierce took his time and tried to study my movements before taking his first blow on me, and just like Kean, he charged at me giving me blows to the head, torso, and legs. I managed to dodge most of his attacks and felt the contact to the ones that landed on my body. He charged at me again but this time I anticipated his moves and dodged his uppercut and gave him one to face instead.
Both Kean and Pierce were great warriors and were not even unruffled by our little sparring. They both continued to land punches and kicks to me as I continue to dodge and defend myself from their offenses. It was just like I remember back when we were 14 at Silverhide, if these two men don’t act like children most of the time, they are actually the best fighters in the pack. When we train, it was always a round-robin on two versus one between the three of us. We agreed to it because, at the time, we thought that it was a good idea to fight multiple enemies at once and practice our coordination.
It took us a solid thirty minutes to finish sparring, all of us were panting and sweating. I finally felt my muscles loosen up, there was slight bruising on my body but that won’t bother me at all since my wolf could heal it up in no time. I was ready.
“Say… we still have a pinch of time left and Kaden here wants to go on a run… you up?” Kean stated.
“Yeah, why not?” Pierce said as he quickly shifted into Cobalt. Kean followed suit and was now on all fours as he let his wolf Kaden take over.
I let Kato take over my body, the stinging sensation of the shift was something that I had gotten used to overtime. I was now at the back of Kato’s mind as he completely transformed himself. He went beside Kaden and Cobalt, he towers over the two and let out a howl before the three of them dashed into the forest.
Kato was happy to be out after a while and enjoyed running around the Yellow Moon forest. Kaden and Cobalt were just as happy as him as they continued running over logs, avoiding trees and even the three of them chased any animal they come across.
We eventually stopped at a stream to drink some water and take a break. All three of our wolves were now lying across the forest floor.
“Fam… do you feel nervous?” Pierce asked through mind-link.
“I do… but I will do whatever it takes to have Amara”
“I don’t doubt that you are going to win this fight fam,” Kean added.
“Thanks, fam but I will not let my guard down on Brian. He is also an Alpha whose fighting for a mate that’s technically mine already, who knows what he could be capable of.” I stated.
We stayed there for a couple of minutes before heading back to the training grounds. Just like before, all three of them dashed through the forest now with seriousness planted on their wolves' faces as their Alpha is going to take on a challenge.
“Kato, are you ready for this?” I asked my wolf.
“More than ready, I’m always here.” He answered.
“Let’s fight for Angel.”
