Deedee (11)

“You have to tell them...tell her. This is too big to hide!”Zelda said in a panic “I….don’t know how to tell her. Where do I even start?” I ask “From the beginning! Deedee, you know as I do that what the Moon Goddess gave Anna was only for a temporary fix. The next time Jason feel an emotion extremely, he will act out. They need to mate property. Both as witch and wolf and that can’t happen if the mark is hidden. He won’t understand why he is on an emotional high. Why he see’s sparks or feel his body change and have accelerated charges running through his body” Zelda said frantically “I was just as shocked as you. When the moon goddess approached me after what happened with Tasha and the kidnapping of Sophie; I knew she was back for Anna after all these years. It took me twelve hours of constant chanting and spelling to erase what she saw...WHO she saw there” I sighed Going to the sofa, I sat down heavily and put my head into my hand as I took a few deep breaths. Zelda was thankfully quiet as she sat down too.  “You need to tell her” Zelda encouraged me softly “I know” I said quietly “I need to tell her everything but I don’t want to” “There’s already been enough lie’s Deedee. So many years of hiding. Give it another ten years, you don’t think she will question why you haven't aged properly? And when she stops aging as normal?” Zelda said “You know” I sighed “When the moon goddess told me of this all those years ago; I didn’t think it would come around so fast” “We never do. Children grow. Your own did” Zelda said softly I smiled sadly. Taking the pot of tea, I poured some into my cup and added milk and sugar that was sitting on the side table. As I stirred the sugar, I thought back to how I agreed to take in Anna when I had found her; bloodied, crying and on the verge of death.  “I remember that day; the shock” Zelda said “When you came out of self exile” “How could I have stayed after what Celine had done! She had tarnished everything! To sacrifice, to kill for power” I shook my head in disgust “I thought I had taught her better than that. I thought I had taught them both better” “You did Deedee. It was only Celine who chose the wrong path. The word being chose. You couldn’t control that” Zelda said gently.  Finishing my tea, I leaned my head back against the cushion and sighed. “It’s glowing again” I say quietly Zelda gasps “Are you sure?” She asks I laugh humorously. My eyes watering in pain. “Yes” I say “Not as brightly as when Celine held it, but it’s there” “It means she has the power to go either way” Zelda said, her hand covering her mouth in shock “Will you tell her everything? And about her family?” “I know I need to...do I want to? No” I say with a smile “But she’s on this path that I can’t change. Beside, I think she’s about to meet her fate soon” “Here?” Zelda asks I nod. Looking at Zelda I smile even as tears slip out and roll down my face “He will hate her. He will kill her” “He is her Tanniem and her mate. Surely that alone will tether him to her” Zelda asked  “I hope so. I can only pray that Kai will keep Jason grounded. His wolf is strong; not surprising for an alpha; but he is scared….in pain from what Celine did, what she took from him” “Surely he would understand. Our Anna is special...she needs him. Without him, she could go over. She could become what Celine was” Zelda expressed her concern. “I know” I sighed again “Anna is good at heart, better than Celine….but there is a possibility-” “Let’s not think about it!” Zelda said, getting up quickly “When Anna comes home, you need to tell her everything and take off the cloaking spell” “He hates witches with a passion” I whisper “I’m not surprised” Zelda sighed “But we can’t risk Anna. I don’t think we would be given another chance to prove that witches are worth saving if Anna turned” “I know. I loathe to do it but it needs to be done. I just hope Anna forgives me for taking her memory away” I said as I get up I follow Zelda to the door as we speak about the best way for me to tell Anna the truth. As we stand by the door talking, the light bulb above our head brightens until it blinds us before shattering into millions of pieces “There trying to mate without open hearts” Zelda says as she lifts her head from her arms where she was trying to protect her face I nod. When a Tanniem of a high witch tries to mate but without being told the truth or withholding information from their partner then the mating isn't complete because the heart is unable to be engaged fully and openly. But the fact that the bulb shattered as it did means he too is holding something back. His alpha powers won’t allow him to let her go. He will be unreasonably jealous and angry; unable to express himself fully because of his experience yet he won’t understand why he feels things so emotionally. “I will tell her the truth once she is home” I said, worry colouring my voice. “I just hope she understands that I didn’t just happen to find her, but knew that she was going to be there. That I watched as Celine sacrificed her, watched as she cut her with that dagger and bled her out and that I only stepped in just before Anna took her last breath”
