I was almost asleep before I heard and felt the first blast of a spell hit the building. I sat up and looked around as Victor scrambled out of bed. They were early! Their plans specifically detailed their attack was going to start before sunset and we were going to get some rest. I knew it had to be a trick! I begged Victor to not put all our defenses according to the attack plans we received. But he said he knew what he was doing.
“They’re here!” he roared and hurried out of the room. Another blast shook the building, and I could hear the vampires screaming in pain as the halls filled with sunlight. I quickly grabbed my clothes and pulled them on. As soon as I opened the door to leave, Gregor pushed me back inside. His eyes were wide, and his fangs were descended.
