The Alpha's Missing Luna

Sadie pov "Sadie I swear if you don't wake up I am going to leave you here!" I heard my sister Kate scream through my bedroom door. I rolled over to grab my phone to check the time 7:30, I had slept through my alarm and we were supposed to be leaving in 15 minutes. "I will be ready in 10!" I yelled back as I jumped up running to my bathroom to take a quick shower and get ready. I took what quite possibly may be the fastest shower of my life and threw a towel around my body and kept getting ready. I braided my dark raven hair into a long plait that fell to the middle of my back and looked at myself in the mirror my piercing ice blue eyes staring back at me. I thought of my parents, not the people who have raised me but my true parents, and asked myself if they would be proud of the young woman I had grown in to be. In just a few days I would be turning 18 which would mark 16 years since my parents death, 16 years of being raised by another family knowing nothing of my parents other than they died protecting me on my 2nd birthday. Snapping back to reality I walked into my closet and picked out a pair of denim shorts that showed the large scar on my right leg, a grey t-shirt and pulled on a pair of sneakers. I grabbed my two duffle bags I had packed the night before and pulled on my hiking backpack. I walked down the stairs to find my sister sitting in the kitchen and my dad cooking breakfast for us. "About time you got up sleeping beauty! We only have a few minutes until we have to get Sarah and Emma" Kate laughed as I walked in. "They can wait a few extra minutes if needed." "Are you sure you girls really want to go on this trip?" My dad joked "you can always cancel. Do you really want to be away for your birthday Sade." "Dad you know we can't cancel now. I know it's hard but this is our last chance to go do something together before we all start college" I laughed giving him a hug as I grabbed the waffle off his plate. "I know I just hate that you won't be here for your birthday in a few days chipmunk." He replied as he patted my arm and kissed my forehead. "And hopefully you will get the letter for that internship you applied for while you are gone" "Hopefully but I'm not going to hold my breath they don't accept that many people" I sighed taking a seat between him and Kate "if I don't get the internship I don't know what I will do about school I was kinda banking on the scholarship that goes along with it." "I'm sure it will all work out" "Thanks dad" We headed out the door with our bags and packed my jeep with our things and headed towards Sarah's house to pick up her and Emma. Once we picked them up we headed East towards the mountains. As we drove we talked about where we would end up in just a few weeks time, Kate was moving across the country in a little over a month her plan was law school, Sarah was staying closer to home going to the local college to be a teacher, Emma was moving a few hours north for a social work degree, and then there was me stuck in limbo waiting to hear if I got an internship. I had gotten lots of scholarship offers for cross country, wrestling, and academics but I had my heart set on going to architectural school. Six hours later we pulled up a log cabin tucked back in the Forrest at the base of the mountains. We unloaded my car and headed inside to change into hiking clothes for a hike before dinner. John Luke pov "Alpha we have rogues just over the southern border" my beta Cillian's voice flits into my head as I sit in my office going over paper work. "I will be there in 5" I responded and I ran towards the door of the pack house shifting as my feet hit the ground my large black wolf Oclan taking over as we ran to assist our warriors. As I reached the southern border I saw a small group of my warriors taking on 5 rogues "leave one alive for questions." I spoke through the mind link. Oclan helped finish taking down the rogues and I shifted back grabbing shorts from one of my men and I started to ask questions to the remaining rogue. "Who sent you and why?" I asked angrily. He responded by spitting blood at my feet. "We have ways to make you talk, Andrew take him to the cells" one of my warriors grabbed him and headed towards the pack. "Cillian let's try to track where they came from" I turned towards my Beta. "Whatever you want JL" We walked around the area when I caught the most wonderful smell in the world on the wind a familiar scent of fresh cut wild flowers. "Mate" Oclan howled in my head and I stopped in my tracks. We were technically in human territory in a National Park but the rogues used the back country as their own and tended to leave the humans alone. "Cillian why don't you head back I will finish looking around" "Are you sure JL we are pretty close to some of the trails" "Yeah I will be fine if nothing else I just look like a normal hiker minus the shoes" "If you say so I will see you later then" I followed the scent lost in thought and saddened at the prospect of finding my mate. I cursed at the mood goddess for giving this person the same scent. Almost 18 years ago my true fated mate had been born Sadie the daughter of our Alpha and luna Sean and Marie Murphy. I had known at 7 years old she would be my mate, I smelled her scent, felt the sparks and heard my wolf. We were inseparable as children until she turned 2 and the attack happened. Her parents were killed in a rogue attack and Sadie had been hurt. Her being injured caused my first shift at 7 to protect her. After the attack her aunt decided our pack wasn't safe for her and took her to live in her pack across the state. Then we got word her aunt had put her up for adoption and we lost track of her. I was pulled from my thoughts when I heard laughter and voices coming from below the cliff I was on. I smelled humans but at least one had a different smell. "Look a waterfall let's climb it!" I heard the most beautiful voice call. "Sadie I don't have a death wish that is all you" another voice replied and I stopped in my tracks at the name and sniffed the air smelling fresh cut wild flowers again. I tucked myself back into the trees and shifted into Oclan so if someone did see me they would just see a wolf. "Fine I will do it myself" the girl I now knew was named Sadie responded as I watched her pull off her shirt to reveal a sports bra running towards the cliff. "Mate" Oclan howled in my head as we watched her climb the cliff. I watched her climb her raven colored hair braided back, her tanned skin glistening with sweat, her piercing blue eyes determined to reach the top. Once she reached the top I had a better view of the beautiful woman standing in front of me and my breath caught in my throat as I laid eyes on my Sadie, the scar running down her right leg was proof enough for me that this was the Sadie I grew up with. I was tucked in the bushes watching when I noticed she sniffed the air and looked around. She looked my way as if she knew I was there, Oclan stuck his head out of the brush to see her reaction. She stuck her hand out to me as if Oclan was nothing more than a golden retriever and I heard her whisper "it's okay boy I won't hurt you if you don't hurt me " "Sadie if you don't hurry up and get back down we are going to leave you" I heard a shrill voice call from below causing her to turn and take off running towards the waterfall's edge and jumped. Oclan instinctively ran to the falls edge to make sure the was okay ready to jump over if needed only to watch her pop up laughing.
