"Are we there yet?" "For F's sake Skye, can you stop asking me that question?" Maddison said while driving. Clearly annoyed by the question that repeatedly asked to her for about fifteen times already. "For a ninth time, I'll let you know when we get there. So can you just wait?" she continued before turning to the auburn haired girl sitting on the passenger seat, for just a second, then back to the road. "But you said it will only took twelve hours and thirty one minutes. But it's been what? A whole day." Skye frustratedly said. Crossing her arms with a grumpy face, looking outside the window of Maddison's car. "Don't be so over dramatic, it's been only fourteen hours, minus the stop we had so that i can rest and you can eat." Maddison calmly replied to her younger sister. As the eldest, she sure need to be the one who understands. Always. They are currently having a trip to one of the town of Tennessee. Where Maddison's fiance, Levi, is living. And was also the hometown of her father. Skye didn't want to go first. Considering that they will stay there for a month before the wedding. Leaving the city and all it's glory to the town that she doesn't even know. If it's not because for her sister, who's gonna be married soon, she wouldn't agreed for it. "But I'm starting to have cramps and I'm hungry." Skye complained with a grimace. The passing trees were started to form like a broccolli to her. The effects of hunger, she guess. Maddison made an eye roll before replying. "You and your abnormal digestive system." "Hey!" Skye cried. Her heard turns to Maddie's side in a rush. "I can't help it. Besides, the last food I ate was your half-eaten sandwich. Can you atleast give me some decent food?" "No, I won't." Maddie said shaking her head a little. "I still remember the last trip we had, you ate too much and you throw up in my car." "But I was so full back then, and a little bit dizzy." "Exactly. No eating, no throwing up." Maddison said with a finality on her voice, eyes still on the road. "You're ridiculous." Skye quietly said. Feeling tired because of the long drive. "No. You are." Her sister sheepishly said. Smirking at her. "So are you just gonna starve me to death? How could you?" She falsely accused. "You're such a whiner." Maddie calmly replied. She knew her sister were just playing around to annoyed her. She always does. "If i knew it would took this far, I wouldn't agreed going with you." Skye said. Playing games on her phone this time. "Where the hell is this South Hale anyway?." she asked. "Language Skye. And it's Southern Vale." "Are we still on America?" Skye said looking outside after her game was over. "Are you sure this is the right way? Because it seems that were the only one who's taking this path." she continued. She wanted to annoy her sister more. If she can't eat, then her sister can't drive peacefully. It's nice to be fair. "Can you stop talking please." Maddison said. Her annoyance grew. "What? I'm just curious." Skye laugh a bit. "Stop that. You know curiosity kills a cat." Maddie glance at her. Her voice was not forcing but the annoyance was still clear on her beautiful face. "But I'm not a cat. So I won't die." Skye replied, smirking. "Oh. I thought you like p*****s?" Skye's smirk turns to a frown. And Maddison laugh at her face. "That's not funny Maddie." "Whatever." Maddie said with a stifled laugh. Skye's phone suddenly vibrated. And the screen was black when she look at it. She turned it on again but the screen displayed a red colored empty bar. "Oh f**k. My battery is dead already? But I still have fifteen percent, why does it suddenly got off? Ugh I hate this f*****g shit." She said before forcefully placing her phone on the dashboard in front of her. "Too much swearing, young lady. That's not good." Maddison said while shaking her head. She sounds like their mother. "Stop treating me like a kid. I'm already twenty one." She retaliated. She love her sister so much but she doesn't like it when her sister treats her like a child. "I won't if you'll stop acting like one." Maddison is six years older than her. Her sister was only four years old when her father and Maddie's mother met. Fell inlove and after a year, they had her. The two grew up so close. Both spoiled by their parents even though they haven't had much. But mostly Skye, because Maddison were spoiling her too. She was only eleven when their mother died because of cancer. Her father got depressed but he got well after a year of counciling. As for her, it made her very sad that she even stop going to school for a month. Among them, only Maddison whom handle it well. Even though she's the one who live longer with their mother than her and her father. Her father married again when she was just thirteen. Her stepmother gave birth to a twins in a couple of year and after that she felt left out. Her stepmother was not so wicked like on fairytale, but she can feel she doesn't like her. That time, she was also struggling on her sexuality. She has no one to talk to because her father was so busy at work and to his new family. No time left for her. She can't also go to Maddisons either, as she was studying in New york, too far from her. And Skye doesn't want to be a burden to her too. "Can I borrow yours?" Skye asked after a long silence. Pertaining to Maddie's phone. "Nope." "I promise I won't invade your privacy." Skye said after taking a deep breath. "Still a no." Maddie replied. "But what I'm gonna do? I'm getting bored." Skye complained. Leaning against the window with a serious face. "Sleep." "I can't sleep." Skye shortly replied. The rays of the sun were blinding her vision. "Just be quiet then." "And then what? Listen to the unheard music and watch the sceneries like I'm in a music video?" Skye said smirking. "You know what? I'm started to think what Frank does when you get too annoying sometimes. He deserved an award for having such patience to you for a very long time." Maddie said. At the mention of her father, Skye's mood turns sour. And Maddie regreted her words. "Well, I'm his best daughter he ever had." she sarcastically replied rolling her eyes. "I think you meant was, he had no choice because you're so cool that even he was furiously angry with you. You're still you." Maddie jokingly said. Laughing a bit to ease her sister mood. "Mean." Skye replied. And they both laugh out loud because of it. "Well, I still love you." Maddie said. Making Skye smile at her words. "I know." she proudly replied. "Conceited." Maddie said before yawning. The long drive took a toll on her. "Are you sleepy? We can switch you know. I can drive." Skye said obviously concerned. "No, it's okay. I can handle it. And you don't have a license yet. I won't let you drive." "Who said there's cop in the middle of nowhere?" Skye asked with a frown. The seriousness on her voice made Maddie laugh. "You really are something." She said before turning on the radio. And the song by Michael learns to rock suddenly played. "Speaking of love." Skye said. "Are you really sure about Levi ?" She asked as she looked at Maddie. "I mean, the marriage thing?" "Yes I am." Maddie replied glancing at her. "A hundred percent sure?" "A hundred and one percent." Maddie replied with a nod."Why'd you asked?" "I'm just thinking. Don't get me wrong, I like Levi more than Matt." Skye said bringing up Maddie's ex boyfriend. "But, you two just met about one month ago? Then suddenly you gonna marry him?" she asked raising her eyebrow. "Don't say that it was love at first sight, or destiny thing, or like he's the one, or the first time you met him you already knew that his your soulmate. Cause I'm really gonna throw up." Skye rambled which made Maddie laugh. "Actually, I won't say anything to sugarcoat him. All I know was that I'm in love with him as he is in love with me." Maddie said with a bright smile on her face. She can't wait to see her lover again. Three days without seeing him was too much for her. "Ohhh. You mean deeply and madly inlove to each other?" Skye curiously yet jokingly asked. "K fine." She said when Maddie replied, mumbling a yes. "You won't understand it." "No. I did actually. It's sounds gross." Skye said with a grimace. "Wow, coming from a lovesick one." Maddie said wearing a smirk."Who's trailing after her so called princess like a lost puppy." She continued. Teasing her little sister. "Excuse me. Are you talking to me?" Skye asked faining hurt. "You know who." "Well, to tell you. I'm not that person anymore." Skye proudly said while crossing her arms. Before looking outside the window. "Yeah?" Maddie laugh at her sister's words. Clearly amused. Skye kept quiet. She doesn't want to opened up with her sister about the latest news on her lovelife. She don't want Maddie to pity her. "I broke up with her." She quietly said after a while. She guess she needed to talk about it afterall. Or she'll be going crazy. "What?" Maddie asked glancing at her. She didn't hear Skye's words clearly because of the music. "I broke up with her." Skye said much louder this time. Biting her lips as she waited for her sister's response. Maddie was puzzled at first. But when she glanced at Skye who was still looking outside, wearing a solemn face. She knew what it was. Maddie decided to stop the car on the side of the road. Turning off the radio before facing her Sister. Wanted to have a serious conversation with her. Whom was not used to share her problem to anyone. Even with Maddie. "Since when?" She softly asked. "Last week." Skye shortly replied still not looking at her. "Oh Skye. You just did what you think was the best for the both of you." "Yeah. But it took me this long to realize it." Skye said taking a deep breath. "And how do you feel right now?" Maddie asked placing her hand to Skyes to comfort her. Skye's eyes started to get watery but she held back her tears. She promised to herself that she won't shed any single tear for her ex anymore. "Still hurting. But I'm trying my best to move on." She replied. When she made sure there was no any tear trying to fall on her eyes she glanced at her Sister. "Don't worry. I'm okay." She smiled at Maddie . Ensuring her that she's really okay. For now. "I know." Maddie said returning her smile. "You know what, don't think about it. When we get there, let yourself be your priority. Have fun and forget what happened. That's the process. After the break up, you'll get hurt. Maybe a few days, weeks or even months. But soon enough, you will forget the pain, the love, and you will forget her." She continued while looking at Skye who's also intently looking at her. Whom also has an Amber eyes just like their mother. "Come here." They hugged each other tightly. And for a moment, Skye was very thankful she had Maddie. "I'm very proud of you." Maddie suddenly said which made her laugh. Not letting go on their embrace. "Now you're the one who's being so dramatic." Skye said making the both of them laugh harder. But the sound of Skye's stomach interrupted them. "Sorry." She said shyly. "Don't worry. I'll cook us dinner. Whatever you want to eat." Maddie said starting the engine. "Drive us to the town first. Wherever it is." Skye said rolling her eyes. "Were here, you silly." Her sister said laughing at her. Pointing to the sign beside the road. Southern Vale was written on it, in a slightly faded thick bold letters. "Oh."
