missed message

Clarabelle's POV The last two days were hectic. I couldn't get over the night in my room with the man I hate so much, or rather, the man I thought I hated. What happened to me and my head the last two days? It's like he is hypnotic, like he has this power over me and my body. I got his phone number from Knox with lots of "please" and explaining why I wanted his number. After a while, he just laughed and said he would send it to me. I messaged him at 7 o'clock, and it's 9 already with no reply. I already had breakfast with my family and was packing my clothes. My phone goes off, and I don't think much of it; I get a lot of emails and stuff from work. I finished up my packing, and Knox knocked on my half-open door. "Hey Clara, you ghosted Hawk's number, then you ghosted him. What's that about?" he says, and I frown. "I didn't ghost him; he hasn't even read his messages yet," I say, and he smiles. "He has. He asked me just after 9 when we were driving back," he says and shows me his phone, and I see he asked Knox why he hasn't replied to him. I check my phone, and he did send a message back, 2 actually, double texting me. Wow. "Hey princess, no problem, anything for you smiley face," then "Is everything alright? You haven't even read my message yet. Are you busy?" Wow, he is acting weird. I look up at Knox, who is smiling at me with a knowing smile. s**t, was I smiling at my phone? "What? Why are you smiling at me like that?" He just rolled his eyes at me and said, "Seems like you two like each other, and you don't even realize it yourselves." He says, and I'm shocked. Is he right? Do we like each other? Like, like, like each other? I just roll my eyes. "I tolerate him and just thanked him for my presents; that's all." I say, and he starts laughing. "What I saw last night says a whole different thing, like you two were a couple for years, like me and Mia. The way you looked at him and he looked at you, I never saw on one of your faces before," he says, and I'm stunned. "Is that really what we looked like? This is trouble if you ask me." "I don't know what you're talking about; we just danced together for one song," I say, and he smiles at me, shaking his head. "It was hours, not one song, Clara. If Dad didn't interrupt you guys, you might have danced all night, Clara," he says, and I blink in surprise. "Wow, I didn't know it was that long. I don't know what to say, Knox." I say, "Because I really don't know. Think about it before you go further with this one; one of you may just get hurt in this process," he says, and he walks off. .
