Once he felt that spark he stood right there in the middle, he was filled with shocked that his mate is here tonight.
He never thought he would meet her, feel her but something was off ‘how come he never smelt her scent not until he felt a brush of her shoulder to his.
That small encounter made him stood there speechless, he forgot how to make a move and most of all he was too shock to know that he has a mate out there.
He turns to take a glance back, there she was facing her back at him. He held back her arm but find that it isn’t her, he couldn’t feel the spark earlier. He tried to look around to see if any girl looks suspicious enough to be his mate but there was no one.
“Hey cousin” he felt a hand on his shoulder
“hey.”
He looked around the party was full and Edmund almost every year throw this party for him to find his mate, but today it wasn’t for him it was just to celebrate and have fun. One of those party that someone throw for hook up and flirtation, yet she finally has shown up but to his disappointment she isn’t around.
He didn’t even see her face or any sight of her but just their shoulder brushing against each other.
“Mason, are you okay man?” Edmund ask again, he shook out of his thought “yeah, all good.”
His cousin’s arm around him, “come on, don’t look at those fake t**s, let’s go we have somewhere to be tonight” He say while dragging him out of his party.
“So what makes you go all Lincolns statue there, don’t tell me I didn’t see that” he jokes
“oh shut up, there was nothing there” he lied.
“Are you sure, bro I saw you just stood there like an i***t and then you grab this other girl’s hand.”
“It was nothing” he sighs leaning towards the car window, watching out the night.
They made it to their pack’s Club, which co-own by him and Edmund. Since he is busy with his pack duties Edmund is always there to run their club, he hardly has any time to be here. He couldn’t even remember the reason why he agrees to set up the club and named it Inferno, it was so weird and awkward, but then he was young when they decided to set it up.
Greg their bouncer opens up the door for them, he saw that their business is doing great the club’s VIP was full except for one that is always reserve for them.
“Yo you’re here” Jax gave him a brotherly hug “dude get off me that is too girlish” he pushes him away while laughing.
Jax swore back at him while he throws himself on the couch “any hotties at your party?” Jax ask Edmund. Before Ed could answer someone cut in “Babe it was like a girl party, with fake boobs and all that s**t” Sofia snuggle beside Jax.
“I can’t believe you invited that w***e with her so called classy friends,” she fired at Ed.
“What?” Ed take a sip of his drink “at least they’re hot,” he winks at her.
She turns towards Mason who just keeps on drinking without even making a conversation. He seems to be so out of place, like he was forced to be there, he didn’t seem to enjoy tonight unlike other nights when they hang out.
“OMG don’t tell me the Fearless Beta has lose his s**t” Sofia teased him, but he just ignores her remarks. He stood up “where are you going?” ask Jax “away from your bitchy annoying girlfriend” he walk out of the booth and went straight to the bar.
“Austin, two scotch on the rocks” “coming up sir” he pour him the two drinks “anything interesting tonight” he gestures at him “your look like a girl, all grinning and blus-“
“yeah yeah…I get it” he laughs while serving his other customers.
He came to stood in front of him with his hands on the bar “Ace’s so girl is here,”
“who?” he tries to hear him “Stella’s here,” he spoke louder leaning towards him. He gulps down his drink “and?” he gave him a question look “I might have given her free drinks tonight?” as much as he treats Austin as a good employee but for someone to hit on his friend’s lady is not nice.
“Stay the f**k away from her” he warns Austin.
“Chill out boss, it wasn’t for her, it was for the friend she brought here tonight,” he smirks, “man she was hot and a real beauty, too beautiful to be our kind and too tragic for me as she’s not my mate” he says with a daydream look.
“Piss off man, I didn’t know I f*****g hire Shakespeare” he felt someone hug him from behind “hi Mase” Stella clung to his neck, he took off her hands steadying her.
He met Stella because of his friend Ace, she was his call on girl when him and Michaela are not in good term. Mase never hit on her or have any fling with her, she was his friend’s girl and that was it. Jax and Ace were alpha of their own pack, they used to be enemies but not anymore, it’s funny when a Beta befriended the alphas.
Their packs always clashes not until the parents of both friends died in the battle with the rogues.
Their pack was the one that brought victory which made others respect theirs so much. He looks back at Stella who was quiet drunk, “stay away from her” she said pointing at Austin “you’re no good to her, she has a mate”
“yeah whatever but I can still steal her from him” Austin furrow his brow at her.
“Oh Mase it’s such a long time,” she pinches his cheeks.
“now get your hands off me” “aww party pooper” she slaps him on the arm while laughing.
Another girl approaches them “Mase meet my friend Emma” he checks her out before gesturing at Austin who roll his eyes “that’s not her” he whispers while he wipes the island.
“Hi Emma nice meeting you” she blushes, “how is it going tonight?” he asks “oh its going good, you look hot I mean shut up” he shrug it off, he didn’t want to make it awkward “sorry that wasn’t supposed to” she stuttered as he nod her head.
“Seriously Emma, where is she?” Stella just save that situation, “don’t know I thought she was with you” “she was”
Mase look with confused “who?” “it’s our other friend” he looks at her again for any sign of which as he has already met her other friends including Amy and now Emma.
“Umm you don’t know her, you guys haven’t met but I will introduced her” he heard a voice calling Stella and Emma’s name, he turn back to the bar drinking his scotch “Ver-“ he saw that she was gone along with Emma. He saw a black hair girl dragging them before making a beeline as if she was hiding from someone.
He couldn’t get a clear view of her as the lights make it impossible for him to see clearly and besides he was drunk. Emma jog back at him “hi again” she blushed “hi” he run his hands through his hair “sorry about that, our friend just kind a freak out cause her brother is here” “aww,” he nodded his head.
“Can we talk and get a drink, it’s on me” she asks, he didn’t want to hurt the girl’s feeling and if Stella ever finds out he rejected her friend “sure, but I insist the drinks on me tonight,” she offered again which he accept at last.
He chats with Emma all night long just talking with no physical contact until their club closes “I tell you that girl is weird” he heard Edmund says to Austin as he pulls up the chair to the table.
“She’s a beauty I don’t care, you’re just saying that because you haven’t seen her” he walks towards them, who were still arguing about a girl “wow I don’t think I’ll be sway because I have seen better” he clears his throat.
“Hey I’m heading home now,” Edmund folded his arm “what?”
“seriously help would be appreciated”
“ughh whatever I’m still going, you know I have to be somewhere, now key please.”
Edmund throw him the car keys, as he walked out of the club he put his hands in his jean pocket. His mind was still on his mate, whom he just run in to but never get to scent her or see her face or any glimpse of her body, it was just the spark when their shoulders brush together.
He looks up the sky to see if there’s a sign yet he has forgotten about his mate years ago, might as well forget it. He has made a decision a long time ago, and he won’t regret it even if he sees her, or at least that’s what he thought.
