A Beta's + Mate

Chapter 6

“Hey there you are” Jane sat next to her “I’ve been looking everywhere for you, how did the night go” she nudged her shoulder “come on, anyone in interest” still there was no response from her friend. 

“Hey are you okay?” she became concern for her “are you” abruptly turning to Jane “I’ve waited” and with that she burst in to tears, “I’ve waited” she cried feeling her heart torn in to pieces that it’s just getting impossible for her to breathe. 

Throughout her whole life she was waiting for him, her mate to meet and be with him yet he did not even give a second thought for her, his real mate. 

Jane was confused at her friend’s outburst, all she has done and said that she waited but never in details of what is going on “hey calm down its okay, everything is going to be okay” she tries to console her friend of whatever is making her cry. 

All she could tell is that she’s pretty hurt badly, the tears still streaming from her eyes. 

She pulls her back “look at me” she tries to turn from her “look at me, it’s your birthday you deserve more than that, now stop it this isn’t you okay” she tries to nod her head in agreement. “Whatever or whoever makes you cry tonight it doesn’t worth it” she nodded her head again while crying. 

“Shhh don’t cry please don’t it’s your birthday and if your brothers ever going to find out you cry they will be mad” she kept on sobbing. 

“You’re not going to ask me what happened” 

“nope take your time, will talk about it when you’re ready, as for you my dear today we get to closed tonight’s ball, they owe me a favor so I simply ask them for a performance of us tonight since I got my best of best friends back” she smile. 

“I don’t think I can do it” she tries to stop sobbing “shhh you can, you’re a strong” 

“independent woman” they both said at the same time. 

“Now let’s show them who we are” she reaches for her friend’s hand pulling her to stand up, “guys thank God we’ve been looking” Stella look at her “are you okay” 

“I’m fine, just a hug would be nice.” Stella walk towards her friend and gave her a hug wishing her happy birthday “now I thought you’re straight” she punches her shoulder “shut up,” they all laugh. 

Realizing that Emma is missing “where’s Emma?” she asks, “girl her mate picked her up, now she’s gone with him don’t know where and do not want to know what they are up to now” Stella says with sarcastic.  

“Girls they are waiting” Jane called to them again. 

She smiles going with her friend inside “wait you guys can go ahead; I’ll be there soon,” “okay but don’t be late you’re playing the piano.” 

She tries to cool herself taking a deep breath counting 1 2 3 before letting it all out and opening her eyes again and walk inside the ball room. 

She didn’t take a look around rather she was focus on her friend and the piano. She wipes her palms on her dress before straightening her back and nodding at them that she was ready. 

“Umm before we start I just want to wish someone a Happy Birthday who after three years of hiding” she said it in a joke which makes everyone in the room smile “just kidding so glad you finally decided to join us tonight, Ella, Emma and I love you so much dear even though it could not be compare to the love of your family” 

she smile blowing her a kiss “thank you” she mouth back at her friends.. 

“Tonight we’ll make a cover of Keri Hilson Promise in the dark, so please sit back, relax and hopefully you enjoy it.” 

Everyone in the room fell silence, Adrian gave Amy a smirk, she was sitting on the chair between the piano and Stella who is playing the guitar, “Girls let’s take it home.” 

It was too quiet with no movement, she cast a look upwards which made her came face to her mate who had just arrived leaning towards the wall with his hands in his pockets. His eyes never leaving her face, taking one deep breathe her hands reach the piano and the music starts to play. 

Her hands gracefully playing it he didn’t fail to take off his eyes, just as before when they met she mesmerized him in every way. 

Even with the way she plays that piano it makes him regret his decisions, her posture everything and even everyone, he seems to forget about it all the only people exist in his eyes it was only him and her nothing more. 

It was dark and she was the only one playing others, in the blink of his eyes all of them disappeared, it was just her and him even better when she sang the second verse. Wow! damn she got him right there, the lyrics even though she wasn’t singing to him but it felt like it meant for him, his world has slowly came crumbling down. 

The heart that tries to love someone else for the past years was now all hers. His wolf was so proud of their mate in that moment. 

The music came to its grand finale finishing in a memorable moment, their voices well coherent and in harmony. The room was filled with applause, standing in ovation she took a bow before going with her friends without giving him a second glance. 

He felt something slowly crept to his heart gripping it and crush it which cause a great pain in his heart that he couldn’t breathe. 

She didn’t acknowledge him like she did when they met, just like that she was gone with all eyes on her, with his heart and of so many leaving him with nothing but pain, hurt and most deadly with deepest regret.
