David folded his newspaper.
“Well, things are quite hot down there,” he told his wife. “The revolution is in full swing and the president’s residence is under siege.”
“Why couldn’t they have done that last year…before Cam had to go through all this.” Lori sighed. She was far more awake than she had been all week. Cameron was going to regain consciousness soon!
“Come on, honey,” she urged, holding Cam’s hand in both of hers and squeezing gently. She stroked and squeezed and stroked the hand again. “Cameron, it’s me, Lori. You’re home now. It’s all okay. You’re free. Open your eyes. It’s all over.” This was the mantra she’d repeated over and over again through the last four days. “Please, honey, I’m here. You’re home. It’s all over.”
