Day 675
Pauly put his suitcase on the bed of his hotel suite. The ten days at home in Baltimore had done him a world of good. He’d talked with his mother, taken care of a few pieces of business, and gone out for drinks with old friends. He’d even gone to the gym, had a relaxing steam bath, and gotten a massage. He hadn’t realized how tense he was. Now he felt like a new man.
He’d been in his suite for less than half an hour when the phone rang.
To his hello, he heard “Paul! I was hoping you’d be back. This is Sara!”
“Hi, Sara. How has your holiday been?” he asked.
“Very good! Mui bueno. I’ve found a new place I want to show you. There’s an act there that I think you will like.” Sara’s enthusiasm sounded bright and cheery.
“Sounds wonderful. Is it open tonight?” he asked.
