Maggie’s Visit
Cam looked up from the bag of leaves. The sun was shining so brightly that it hurt her eyes to look above the bush she was working beside.
“Cameron!” she heard someone yell.
She looked around in amazement. Maggie? Where did Maggie come from?
“You look shocked.” Maggie smiled as she walked up to Cam and gave her a warm hug.
“Oh, Maggie! It’s been awful!”
“Well, it’s fine now. We finally talked Ortega into releasing you to us. I know it’s taken a long time but it’s over now,”
“But he was the one, Maggie. He told me himself. He shot Ascensio!”
“It doesn’t matter, sweetie. Arrangements have been made.”
“It doesn’t matter!?!” Cam was incredulous. “I’ve spent months in this hell-hole and it doesn’t matter?!”
