Cam slept fitfully. Lack of food and too much water all at once upset her stomach. She tossed a bit but she’d finally fallen into an exhausted sleep. She slept soundly. Then she dreamed. In her dreams she ran, joyfully, with Michael and Lori through the hills beyond the mountains. In her dreams the air was clear and cold and she was happy to be lounging in a meadow. Then her dreams turned to being rescued. She heard helicopters and men’s voices and in her dreams, she smiled and signaled to the helicopter pilots who’d come to rescue her as they hovered above. In her dreams she heard many voices who cheered that she was returning home. In her dreams hands reached out to welcome her. Hands dragged her from her sleep.
