Episode 3

Hazel’s P.O.V. I closed my eyes and sighed as Madison walked out of the kitchen. Just the sight of her made me think back to her riding Adonis in my bed and I wanted nothing more than to slap the s**t out of her. But being that I’m surrounded by werepeople, I’m sure she’s one too. And if I’m being honest, I just can’t put any energy in that girl today. I have other things to worry about. Ryder and Adonis were so quiet the entire ride back here, but I saw their eyes gloss over a few times, and I know they were talking to each other in their minds which is still f*****g weird to me. They quickly mentioned something about a border issue and then they ran out of the house together right after they told me to wait here for them. I blew out a breath and drank the last bit of my orange soda in one quick gulp. I threw my can in the trash and made my way up the stairs towards my room. As soon as I stepped inside the door, I couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling that was engulfing me as I looked at the bed that Adonis and Madison f****d on the night I left. I couldn’t hide it anymore…I was pissed at the mere thought of it, and I kept asking myself why was I back here? I hadn’t even noticed that my feet were moving and within seconds, I was ripping the sheets off of the bed…cursing and crying. When did my life become a soap opera? I didn’t understand any of this and it was driving me crazy.   I was just about to throw the lamp that was on the nightstand next to the bed across the room when I felt the most amazing feeling take over my body. I gasped at the sudden rush of calmness and warmth washed over me along with a jolt of something that felt like it could be electricity coursing through every last one of my veins. I looked down and saw a pair of strong and ripped arms wrapped around my body. And from the foreign but incredibly intense feeling, I could only assume that this wasn’t Adonis who was holding me. “I only left you for maybe forty minutes and you are already causing trouble.” Ryder’s low and sultry voice echoed in my ear. I turned around and looked up into the gorgeous eyes of the one who claims to be my mate. “Ryder.” I whispered. He stared into my eyes as if he were searching for answers. I tried to turn my head from him so that he wouldn’t have to see me cry, but that only made him reach up and turn my face back to him. “Don’t turn away from me and never be ashamed to cry in front of me.” He whispered to me. “Do you feel like telling me why you are vandalizing this room?” I shook my head as he started to wipe my tears away. How could I tell him that I was unintentionally acting out because of Adonis’ behavior? I knew he wouldn’t really understand and to be honest, I feel kind of selfish crying about one of the men that I’m technically destined to be with to the other man that I’m destined to be with. This s**t is confusing, and I still can’t quite understand what is happening around me. Ryder nodded his head in understanding and then wiped another one of my stray tears away from my face. I couldn’t help but to notice the strong electricity like sparks his hand was causing me to feel as he touched my face. I bit down on my lip to try and stop the shiver that I felt was coming.   “Ryder?” “Yeah?” “I know this may sound strange, but why does it feel like electrical waves going through me?” “That’s the mate bond, love. I feel it too when I touch you or if you touch me.”
