KAEL'S POV
I broke loose from her arm. Walking away from her, my heart thump could easily be heard from a mile away. She makes me so tense, and I don't like how that makes me feel. Why does she have to be so stubborn and not just listen to me for once?
Manny chipped in around me, "Hey Kael, I'm really sorry about what happened. Are you okay?"
I waved him off with my hands. "It's fine, Manny. Where's Freya?"
He hesitated before responding, "I saw her leaving the premises a few minutes ago."
My heart broke at that instance. Freya was gone, and I had no idea where she'd be. To make matters worse, she called me selfish. That really did sting.
