Chapter 1
Luke’s
I was stretching and pumping my arms upward to get better exercise in the morning. Last night was a full blown blast as I looked at three girls in bed. They're asleep. Without ado, I quickly changed and stormed out leaving some bills on the floor. Damnit. That was a good show. It's been a couple of weeks since I had my last s*x with unmated She Wolves until last night. After several days of contemplating every pack to be allied. Surveying for our good. Finally, I had a break.
“Alpha, your Father is on the way to pack house.” My Beta, John, mindlink me. As I slid into my car.
“Why?” I asked coldy.
“He wants to discuss important things to you.” he replied immediately in mind links.
I didn't answer him but I closed the connection. Eventually, I rode back to pack house. I growled when I saw the old man, --he's not really old but I'd like to call him that-- getting his a*s out of his comfortable van. I stopped my car and got out eventually.
Without glancing him, I made my way to my room and change my clothes into comfortable one. He needs to wait me if he needs my attention. After almost an hour, I stepped in to my office which is located next to my room, with connecting door on them. And there, I saw him in the couch, sitting like a king, with papers in his hand and a mug with coffee in the other hand.
“What do you want?” I asked in boredom. Eyeing the papers in his hands. As I stare at it, I realised that it wasn't mine, so I didn't give a sh*t. I sat down on a single sofa, way far from him, avoiding getting close to him.
“Look at this.”
He throws some papers on the coffee table in front of us. I looked at him, confusedly. He gestured his hand on it. So, I looked at the papers. And there, I saw a beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life, well next to my Mother Luna. True, she looked like she could make all men kneel in just one glance. Her eyes are beautiful green forest that are enchanting to every creature.
She's wearing a small smile in her thin pink lips. She looked weak and naive. But I can see something in her eyes that I couldn't pinpoint.
‘Mate’ Lucky, my wolf, whispered tenderly.
‘She can't be our mate, Lucky. She's weak.’ I growled at him.
‘No. We need her. I know, she can be strong.’ he replied eagerly.
‘No. I don't like her. She can't be our mate.’ I said with finality before closing our links.
“So? What do you think?” asked my father. I looked at him, still confused as to why he gave me this.
“What is this all about? Is this really important? I have a lot to do. So, spill out the beans now.” I said rudely. I don't care what his reaction is, he deserves that.
“She's the shewolf in the prophecy. She can make kneel all of the wolves in front of her. No exemption. But she doesn't know it yet. Only some Alphas knew about it. So, if I were you, I will go and get her. She can be a weapon to make your pack stronger.” He cruelly said it. I somehow feel sorry to her but I shove it away. “And she's unmated she wolf. So that's why, many men look after her.” he finished it with cruelty and smirk. I silently growled at the remarks of him which it didn't go unnoticed to him.
He stood up, satisfied at what he saw in my reaction. He said his goodbyes and went out, without me giving a chance to butt in. No sh*t! Why would I follow his advice? He's good for nothing.
He is cruel. He acts like I'm not his son ever since Luna died. I blamed him on it as well as him to me. So, he deserves my cold shoulder. I couldn't stand with him in the same room. So, I made myself out of his house for he no longer can control me until this one.
‘Let's find her.’ Lucky said excitedly. I sense some emotion and excitement in his.
“No. We can move without her.” I replied by pulling myself on the sofa even more. Feeling exhausted of the information.
‘But she's a mate.’ Lucky interjected.
“No she's not.” I ruthlessly growled at him before I cut off the connection.
I was filled with silence, finally. I closed my eyes and sighed out my breath. Feeling the comfort of the sofa. I didn't know that I fell asleep.
‘Mate’ a voice called out of nowhere.
I looked around to find where it was. I walk to its direction. I could feel cold darkness around me. I couldn't see anything but total black.
‘Mate.’ whispered. I recognised it as a shewolf whisper. She has a beautiful voice that can give a lullaby.
‘Mate.’ I heard her giggled. ‘Will you find me?’
‘Where are you?’ I shouted, looking at nowhere.
‘Find me.’ she giggled again. ‘Mate.’
She called me many times until it was fading, together with her giggles. But at the end of it, she said, “Help me.” while sobbing. As I reached out to nowhere, I pulled back to my sanity.
“Mate!” I called out. Panting and breathing heavily. My eyes land on the picture on my coffee table. My body shivered.
