Chapter 3
Dalia
In the middle of the night, I suddenly felt tense. Feeling about the danger to come but I wave it away, shaking my head. I sit down and look around my room, here in grandma's house. It's only two o'clock in the morning. I felt like someone's watching me. So, I stood up and walked to the kitchen to get something to drink. Before going down, I took a peek in grandma's room to see if she was sleeping soundly. To my surprise, she isn't there. Where does she go?
I move away to the kitchen and get a glass of water to drink. I sighed heavily. Up until now, I felt the tension. Then, suddenly I heard a low growl of something. I thought it was from my stomach but no. I heard whispers and growls outside the back door. I slowly moved onto it. Silently praying they wouldn't notice my presence. As I came near, the voices and growls were clearer. When I took a peak. I was bewildered by what was going on outside.
There, in front of my grandma, three wolves and two humans who don't have single clothes imon their own. I immediately cover my eyes. Beside grandma is also a huge wolf, growling over again.
I gasped at the sight and forgot the glass in my hand. The glass shattered around the floor and I stood there frozen as their gazes traveled to me. Their stares send shivers down my spine, my eyes bulge wide, mouth hangs open and for a moment, I couldn't move while looking at each of them.
When the big wolf beside grandma started to move towards me, I stepped back even if I could feel the piercing of the shattered glass on my feet, I didn't mind as my eyes didn't avert. When the other wolf moved towards me, I started to shiver and screamed loudly. I didn't care about the surroundings. When I stopped screaming, I saw how the wolves fell down and shifted into humans. Even my grandma and other guys fell down. I gasped!
The big wolf is now changing into a human that I didn't ever imagined who he can be. I covered my mouth for I couldn't contain the scenario in front of me.
“B-bradley?” I stuttered as I called him. He looked up and I gasped once more. I want to help here but I don't know what to do.
They groaned painfully. I looked at my grandma, she's on the ground. I ran towards her.
“Grandma!” I yelped as I rushed to her, helping her up. “What's happening? I-i.. I..” I stuttered again while looking around me. She held my hands.
“You should go up stairs now.” She said, worriedly. I shook my head.
“N-no. Tell me, what's happening? I.. Why is Bradley here? Why are they wolves? What? How?”
“Lia, calm down!” she called.
“Oh yes! I am just dreaming.” I nod my head and convince myself more. “Yes. A dream! I should be sleeping now.” I rubbed my head with my palm.
“You are not dreaming, Dalia.” someone called.
I looked around and saw the five magnificent bodies of guys, standing tall with each other and they're all naked. I almost scream when a hand is all over my mouth that makes my screams muffled.
“Don't scream, doll.” Bradley whispered. I stiffed instantly for I know, he was also naked.
“B-brad, move away. Wear something for I felt something poking my back before I scream again here.” I looked at the other five men who were standing naked. I looked above them, I don't want to look anywhere else. “You, guys, please put something in your nakedness. I am still a lady here.” I pointed to my left. “There's clothes in there.” I closed my eyes when they didn't move. “Please Move right away before I scream here.”
I feel them move. I still close my eyes. I sighed heavily, trying to calm my nerves. Contemplating the scenes a while ago. Inhale. Exhale. Maybe I am just dreaming, right? Maybe this is the result of fantasising about wolves and such myths. How can this be happening?
“We're good now.” I heard Bradley's voice.
“Okay?” I rather asked. “Is this a dream right Brad? .” I said, rather convincing myself than asking my best friend. Still eyes closed.
“No, doll. This is real. Now, open your eyes for you to see us.” He gently told me. And I did as I was told. I gasp.
Looking to my right, my grandma just held my hand and smiled at me. On my left, Bradley stands with my polo shirt and a boxer with no footwear. I almost laughed at the sight of him, he just rolled his eyes on me. That's when I looked at the five guys, I burst into laughter. They used the clothes of my grandma’s.
I saw how they scolded each other. Not seriously mad towards others. I don't know but I see them as harmless humans or wolves? or whatever they're called.
“It's your fault, you let your anger surface.” said the one with a red head or hair? He was scolding the blonde one.
“Yea right, just like others, I was the only who became a mad man.” he answered while rolling his eyes. When he looked at me, he gave me a wink.
“It was Dan, who sifted first.” Gentle one of them chided. He was also a calm one among them.
“Beta, why do you always bully me? Fine, it was my fault. Ugh!” The one they called Dan, was frustrated as he admitted.
“Young men, you should've respected me. I am still here. And you came here to take her there? You should have known that I won't allow you to do that. Now is not the right time. You all know that.” Grandma, finally, chided them. Most of her words were vague for me. I don't understand even a single thought about it.
“No, former Luna. The Alpha asked us to be here and take you home.” The one they called Beta, gently told her that.
“Why the rush? I tell you. Now isn't the right time. Tell him that. It isn't time yet.” She said, angrily. “I won't give her to you. I'll die first before you lay your fingers to her. Did I make myself clear, didn't I?”
There's a moment of pause for a while before the men nod. Fear and dismay were written to their faces. I don't know why. They looked like a lost puppy while bowing their heads.
“Uh..” I cleared my throat. “Can anyone here explain what's going on?”
Nobody answered me. They silently looked at each other's eyes like they were talking in their minds. When I looked at the five men, they looked like a sad puppy. And just like I have mercy in any puppy, I always make them understand. I took a few steps towards the Beta.
“Oh. Why so sad? You looked so lost.” I stroke his hair gently. And just like a puppy, he leaned on my touch.
And just like that, I heard the low growl from Bradley before he set us apart. I rolled my eyes on him while the beta groaned.
